"Is there something wrong with you??"

    Quite a lot actually.

One of my many disabilities is slight dyslexia, and my answers are the best I can type, not always the best I can think of.

So is there a Dyslexia forum I can frequent?

Going for the sympathy vote are we?

    It doesn't explain this away:
What cant be changed is screen size, 15.6 inch to 17.3, nor could the processor.

The memory RAM can be increased, the Hard drive also could be changed.

So personally I look at the screen size and hard disk, then the processor and graphics etc etc.

I think that it goes without saying that the internal screen size can't be changed, though of course one can use a monitor.
(It is entirely possible to change the CPU of a laptop as long as it is not soldered in.)

You state that the RAM and HDD can be changed and then go on to state that you choose by screen size and the user changeable HDD and only then consider the unchangeable CPU and GPU.

How does the sum of that advice make any sense?

Dyslexia doesn't explain that away. The spelling is perfect. :)

Mummyyummy, forgive the children in here, you have no idea what you need in terms of tech talk, have a budget in mind.

All laptops come with very good graphics chips, and you dont need to worry if you need enough juice for normal everyday apps and online games

£200 will get you an entry level laptop

£300-£500 - will get you a midrange multimedia gaming laptop spec.
    Intel i3 to i5.

£500+ - will get you a gaming high end gaming laptop that can handle most of the new games and smaller everyday things a doddle. Intel i7

    Low range - http://www.ebuyer.com/629702-hp-250-g2-laptop-f7x94es-abu
    Mid Range - http://www.ebuyer.com/624117-lenovo-ideapad-z50-70-laptop-59416301

We know that there are "100s of laptops...." but if the OP is depending on you for your 'expertise', do you think that machine at £500, represents the best value "midrange multimedia gaming laptop spec"?

I don't think that it represents a gaming laptop at all, unless you are happy to play at low frame rates.

Why would you link/recommend to that machine, instead of this one:
    Lenovo G50-70
Intel Core i5-4210U Dual Core Processor
    15.6" HD Screen
    Microsoft Windows 8.1 64-bit
    8GB DDR3 RAM
    1000GB HDD
    DVD Rewriter
AMD Radeon R5 Graphics with 2GB RAM
    at the same price??

I'm just concerned as to what is passing for 'advice' these days.

So your saying my one example of an midrange specced laptop would not be able to play any games?
    Go away !

Put it in bold, lest you miss it.

As soon as someone advertises that they "work in IT", I get that sinking feeling.
I don't mind going away....the problem is that if I go, it will leave the likes of you here to 'advise' people.
