Now this is what I call living the good life - as well as the usual tea and coffee making stuff and bottle water, a little carafe of brandy ... that magically refills itself every morning:)

Afternoon jelly Nannylala is just loving the sound of that:T:T

I also have 5 years learning and GCSE French too :)
DS1 is about to start German for GCSE and has only learnt it for a couple of months a few years back.
I wanted to be a helpful Mummy, plus fancied learning something new :)
Once I've mastered this I'll move on to French :j

What a great idea, I would also recommend doing a pottery course in an adult education class I wanted some specific tiles for my kitchen, but could not afford them so I went and made them. I continued attending for years as I loved it

Well, the wall plaque thingy I made and glazed a while ago is finally back from the firing kiln

And I made some coasters, too - the stamped-out lettering says 'My favourite drink is the next one'

You make me sound cleverer than I am :o
It's only school level stuff which usually means you can't do much more than say your name and know a load of words.
I definitely can't hold a conversation with anyone in either French or German at the moment.

If anyone has ever learnt or knows German the der, die and das is driving me potty!

My OH would never swap the 2 years he spent working in Zambia, though he did come back home and that was when we really got together :D

My brother went to university in Alaska, followed by studying in Hawai'i, from whence he went to Alabama. He is married to an American girl and has two kids, he is an Associate Professor of Geophysics in the University of Alabama, and very settled out there. He now has dual nationality.

I have to admit DS1 is doing very well for himself, but we still miss him every day.
