    Question for Savvy please

What's the deal with M's milk ? Bought 2 skimmed and 1 semi skimmed at a.com expecting it to match 3 for £3 at m. All 3 compared v £1.39 and I was sure last week it compared. Tia

Ok, I'm having a 'day off' from the thread today and pretending not to be here but I am so I'll log in and answer this. Actually I feel fine now, after a nice rest overnight.

The 'deal' is that the price collectors for the APG keep missing off items as being in the same offer at M. Therefore, particularly on mix and matches, this results in M returning at full prices:(. On the milk, it could be a 'regional' thing too - it's not unknown for them to forget about Welsh semi-skimmed milk yet pick up the skimmed for example. In that case though, one of them (the semi-skimmed in this fictional example) would appear N/A and result in the other two being full price as not met the qualifying number at M (according to the N/A return on the one the APG collectors in the regional store failed to pick up).

This changes from price collection to price collection. It's so haphazard that I wouldn't buy or try three times 4 pint milk at all vs M* unless and until confirmed for that price collection period that specific ones are working. Two skimmed and 1 semi-skimmed ought to have worked but, for whatever reason, either they've not been identified as in the same M offer or one or both of the different milks hasn't been identified as being on 3 for £3 at all. It may be that 3x skimmed or 3x semi-skimmed may have worked (if it identified them as on 3 for £3, albeit not put into the same 3 for £3 by the collectors) - then again one or other (or both) could have still returned full prices, for a triple purchase, if they hadn't got them as being on a multibuy at all.

Yesterday two of my Cadbury Twinpots failed to interact:( - I thought I'd got it right: Popping Jelly and Chunks (I bought others in twos and they worked). My Popping Jelly appeared on the comp. as Limited Edition however (I thought that was the Mini Eggs? (Of which they had none in my store)) and Limited Edition and Chunks did not pick up a bogo'f' between them. Maybe a B/C issue. :(:(Not very happy as that lost 70p overall - which may seem a small amount but it ended up as if they'd cost about 42p each:eek: - way too expensive, as it barely beats the price charged to an A staff member at times when they are on 50p in A. They should have been 36p each (10% cheaper than M's bogo'f'). I ended up with a womble that made up the difference. But - still - should have had that and the 10% difference - the amount I've lost to M comps. in the past...

The Twinpots are off in M now. The Hartley's tablet jellies are back on 3 for £1 in M, but I've not even mentioned that (until now) as it is, I feel, just so risky especially with the number of different flavours - if you are trying three different ones, it only takes for one of them to miss the offer and the whole lot return vs full price:(. They could be okay for people who don't mind comparing vs full prices and see them as good filler items anyway. If anyone there does have a combination that turn out to work, do let us know. Maybe they are on 4 for £1 in A anyway?

I thought the milks you posted had picked up the mbuy offer before. I did post, only a few days ago, a combination that worked. Does this mean the prices have now updated to the Monday results? However I think the combination I posted was Whole Milk and Semi-Skimmed? In any event, as things change on every price collection, I wouldn't treat any of that as valid for more than a few days - the results on any given day are very short-term information on here and they could soon change once a new price collection is done and updated into the system. This relates specifically to Avs M of course. So, anything from Saturday shops might not work come Tuesday afternoon for shops done now.

    HTH.

*It's why they no longer appear on my M lists at all. Btw, the Ladies' Shaver, that I originally thought was very risky, I no longer think it to be as risky as I first thought. So I've already now deleted the note that I originally put on the list about that - HTH.

Gocat I applied the other day and got my classic account card through today. I got an email confirmation of my account etc. I'd give it another day or two to see if you get your card.

I haven't heard anything about the progress of the switch but Halifax did say it would take 7 days so I'll continue to wait.

Depends when you did it - my experience opening with TSB was the first opened straight away, the second took a few days to be processed. If it hasn't appeared yet, they will still be processing (either to accept or reject) so I would not be trying another one yet (assuming you went all the way to the end of the application process).

    Hth

    FREE Catfood anyone ?

And be paid either £1.50 or £1.87 to take it away ;)

    320588.jpg?v=4320597.jpg?v=4

Specially marked packs are try me free. Send proof of purchase and receive a cheque back within 14 days.

Also Claim £1.50 via Q or COS and an additional 37p via APG if doing an A v T.

Tip : If doing an A v T ask for a duplicate receipt at point of transaction.

Great - so if you snap your receipt for Quidco click snappy you can then send it off for your try mr free offer - so you would not need a duplicate receipt?
Also the duplicate receipts would sAy duplicate on it so it would not be accepted for TMF???

Cat food and veg nuggets - a list is forming :D

Yes. We don't have a mortgage anymore and pay off cc bills on time every month so hopefully should be ok. This is the first one I've done but have read of folk doing a few ;).

I've got 5 grandchildren and was wondering if you have any ideas for an account for each of them where I could maybe open with £200 per child that could earn them some interest or benefits without me putting money in religiously every month as x5 is  Thank you Karlie

Got a question (I know, me - not normally the one to ask). Presumably the Sure deos (£3.29 vs £1.44 M), in the 3 for £5 offer in A, that's the same offer as the Sanex are in so that there's no trigger available now?

Just had a phone call from the mortgage broker.
We've been turned down due to too many commitments.
They're going to try a second lender but if that fails we'll just have to sit tight for a while and try again next year :)
Oh we'll onwards and upwards :) the house we like is obviously not meant to be :)

Apologies for the question but what do mortgage brokers consider as being too many commitments - is it when you have a car loan or bank loan and balances on your credit cards as well.

Trying to understand the mortgage system now and it all seems like gibberish.

Do the brokers still charge you even though they turn you down?

You must be disappointed dipdap but I'm sure when the time is right it will happen for you. :A

I do not envy anyone on the property ladder it is much more difficult to climb than it used to be.

Hopefully sitting tight you will be in a much better position next year. ;)
