Bad night - the $*^" neighbour that had Phyllis & the bald cat has now got a dog:(:(
She works nights & dog has howled & barked all night
She is home now but dog still shut in kitchen howling
Yesterday I was wondering why I wanted to leave my lovely house, this morning has answered that question.
What with another neighbour shutting her yapping dog outside from 7.30pm every night, plus the teenager who wants to be a rock singer who never shuts his window & screams foul lyrics opposite - Admittedly I ring his Mum & it stops
How did everyone else sleep? well?
Let's hope the dog isn't howling when potential buyers come to view the house!
Or is it sold STC?
:cool:Also see the men cleaning bigben

Well I have had another email from green redeem this morning - so no point in me looking for the orange button after all
"I sincerely apologise for the previous email and any confusion caused. I've looked into your account and unfortunately your area is not currently covered within the Greenredeem scheme, therefore you will be unable to earn points for your household recycling.
However I can confirm you can earn points by taking part in Greenredeem activities via our website."Ive just been emailing Green Redeem and part of the email said
Thank you for contacting Greenredeem.
"As you are a self-reporting member you will need to contact us at least once a month to tell us that you have recycled, this will allow you to gain the maximum number of points.
You may self-report once each week and you will receive 10 points each time. In addition you will also get a share of the community's recycling collection.
Self-reporting is easy; you could either tell us that you have recycled online at https://www.greenredeem.co.uk by simply clicking the orange “I have recycled” button on your account page. Alternatively, you can call us on 0844 409 9490 and tell us you’ve recycled by following the instructions. Please be aware that calls are charged at 5p per minute from a UK landline and mobile rates may vary.
You can also download a mobile application to your iPhone or Android Smartphone and tell us you’ve recycled as well.
If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact us via the customer care tab of your Greenredeem account."
So I looked on my account page and there is no orange "I have recycled " button - can anyone else see this or is it just me?
Or do I have to download the ap onto the iphone to see this orange button?
Is this something everyone knows about and I've missed
If I could find where this orange button lives I could then make it a weekly reminder
Not that the extra 40 points a month are of much use unless the rewards improve to replace the much lamented marks vouchers“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -
I'm going to spend the morning pondering a situation I have...
My very good friend has been upset recently because her sister BIL and children are moving to the states for his work...its got progressively worse over the last few months with her keep saying she doesnt know how she will manage with her sister so far away...and refuses to see any of the positives.
Both sisters are very well off so it wouldnt mean they couldnt see eachother and the sister thats moving is more than happy for visits etc and has continued on a very regular basis to say it wont or shouldnt change anything ...but my friend point blank refuses to see that its a good move and all she wants to do is wallow in her own self pity....she also doesnt really like her BIL and blames him for the move.
Here in lies my problem...I'm not sure how much more I can take...the family travelled off at the weekend and its hit fever pitch here with sister who just can let go....
I am sympathetic..but its starting to affect me...2 years ago I lost my brother to cancer and I still miss him so much... how I wish he was on the end of a plane jouney or skype...and I fear that I'm at the point of snapping that remark at my friend to try and make her see that physical distance can be overcome....but I feel so bad about trying to make her see it that way.....frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

House prices round here have gone up at least 25% since we moved in 2006. Doesn't effect us as I can't see us ever moving. Wanted to encourage the kids to think about buying, but I think the recent price increase (asking prices have gone up 10-15% this year) is going to put paid to that idea.
Same around here in Manchester.
Same can be said for rent. As a student, you could have rented a decent terraced house for £60 per week a few years ago. Now you're lucky if you can get it for £90 per week.
