I am planning on having a freebie design back end this year and breakdown what I need and buy in the sale but the back extension needs to come first which requires patio doors (widen original door) new side glass door (ebay buy as it's a new hole) ceiling and tilesnot a lot really....................ohhhh where's me power tools :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Maybe I'll hire you to do our kitchen - sounds like you have the desired skills0 -
Another week over:
Just cleaned the kitchen but thats hardly made a dent in the jobs to be honest. DH is talking about getting a cleaner, I've always resisted but am actually thinking about it now. I can see how things have built up and it becomes overwhelming. Keep saying I will clean more evenings/weekends but it never seems to happen.
Part of me thinks its a waste of money but part of me thinks we both work full time & earn decent money. If nothing else it would make us tidier!
DS has his end of term drama performance today and he is also doing a drama exam. Then we are out to friends for dinner this evening.0 -
Really disorganised and didn't buy anything to take to our friends so had to stop at the garage en route (in my defence it had a mini M&S in it). Bought bottle of wine, bunch of flowers and box of chocolates - £37!!!
Kicking myself as my disorganisation probably cost me £10 over what that lot would have cost at the supermarket.
Just been to the DIY store to get the paint. It's a first but they actually had the colours we had chosen in stock!!
Still need to make some choices about the curtains....0 -

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: No I think it's blind ignorance not skill:D
Debt Free Diary - Second Chances! Life in a Tourer........Debt free, building a savings pot0 -
Finally ordered some curtain swatches - 5 from J0hn L3w1s& 5 from N3xt - hopefully 10 isn't too many - I"m not good with a lot of choice!
Discovered today that stamps are blooming expensive haven't bought any for ages and usually buy them with weekly shop at the supermarket. Needed to post DS's thank you notes so bought stamps alone and saw the full horror! Without meaning to sound too much like an old fogey I can remember when a first class stamp was 9p - today it is 63p!:eek:0 -
Had to get a prescription today and a new toothbrush for DS - very exciting spending!
I get paid on Thursday and have managed quite well this month so have some to add to the slush fund tomorrow when I clean out my current account. Might shove a bit in long term savings - will think about that. Not talking massive amounts but moving it all around keeps me occupied. I always found Monopoly more fun when I was losing and plotting how to better my position - it could get quite boring just collecting rents each go... I know I'm a rather odd! Of course I wouldn't like life to be like a Monopoly game.
Enough with the rambling, reading a very good book at the moment so think I'll head off to bed and carry on with that.0 -
Beautiful day here but we are off to the cinema as have promised to take DS to see the new Superman film. DH has cried off as he needs to start preparing the lounge for the decorator who starts Tuesday.
Also need to do a C0stc0 trip either today or tomorrow & get some more paint from the DIY shop.
DS has a cheque he needs to pay in and I must put his school blazer in for dry cleaning.
House is overwhelmingly messy, laundry basket overflowing and the shower screen fell off yesterday so probably need to replace that.
Parents coming for lunch Sunday.
So all in all is going to be a busy few days - just nothing very exciting! :rotfl:0 -
I certainly wouldn't recommend Batman versus Superman - overlong, disjointed & way too may special effects with virtually no coherent story line would be my analysis. Even DS thought it should have been a good half hour shorter.
Not really having the get up and go start I wanted to day so far. Been up 2 hours - all spent on the sofa watching telly - naughty naughty.
Will get a shower and the off to C0stc0 ...0 -
£90 in diy shop on undercoat & new shower curtain & fixings
£246 in C0stc0 - sounds bad but am always relieved when under £300! Now have 27 portions of meat so not too bad really.
Not helped by DH nipping to S@insburys for some cream and an easter egg for DS and spending £50  I gave him £30 as I was annoyed at all his impulse buys - I do sound mean right!
Mum and dad coming for lunch today which has been a good prompt to clean the house:D
At least the shops are all closed today so no possibility of spending there0 -
Decorator started this morning so lounge is totally unusable, sat in the kitchen watching telly but might go to bed and watch something on laptop in a bit - be more comfortable!
Managed to have an argument with DH both last night and at 6.30 this morning - thats going it some! As ever clearing the lounge was left to the last minute meaning we were still doing stuff at 10.30 last night. Then this morning I discovered he hadn't sorted out the cable nest - the decorator wasn't too impressed with having to work round that, neither was I when he cut the phone line while I was mid work conference call.
Do sometimes feel we do everything half assed.
None of this is helped by it being school holidays so I have DS mooching around and just to add to the chaos he is having friends over tomorrow for a sleep over.
Still will be glad when it's done and he is due to finish Thursday so not very long in the scheme of things.0
