I don't - and never have done. Maybe that's where I'm going wrong

Well if he's hot, you could try it, and you'll hopefully be asked for "payback" at the end of it...

Of course, check that his kitchen sink is empty before you try this.

    Like your thinking!

Slight change of subject but one of the things that puts me off the whole dating thing is that my mind might stray from the money side of things. I REALLY want to sort the debt thing out and kind of feel I should do this before venturing out there. anyone else feel this way?

Oh we have a lurker! Welcome to the [STRIKE]nut house[/STRIKE] DFW Dating thread. :kisses3:

Well this thread is in existance because of that very question - how do you date cheaply? Though that isn't about becoming a cheap date.

Though I would point out to everyone here that the fact we've had our LBMs does mean we're a bit more sensitive about the subject than other people. It's entirely possible to be worried about money on a date with a person who isn't in the slightest bit concerned about it - but who is in a much deeper financial mire than you are.

but I don't care about him because I don't know him yet! what worries me is not so much the initial date (that's a whole different set of worries) but if it develops into something that I'll take my eye of the ball and start spending again.

..or the fact that you might start to like him too much and attempt to help him out too! (Oh, no that's just me that does that! )
