My Homecare 100 Boiler and Controls Cover with Annual Service Visit has come up for renewal, and I'm displeased to see they are increasing the monthly cost by about 26%.
I've made no callout demands on them - never have- so I'm wondering how they can justify such a jump in price this year.
Anyone else had this issue?
Cheers.

Because many people will not bother to query the renewal price. Negotiate, or, if you must have this cover, find a local independent GSR RGI who offers an annual insurance-based scheme. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

The best thing to do is phone them and explain you are a good customer and have been offered a cheaper quote and say you are loathed to leave them because of the excellent service.
Remember it is only insurance you are paying for and they rely on people like yourself just to pay up.
BTW they wanted to increase mine by £100 this year and I had not even called them out in the last year.0 -
Not sure if this is the correct thread but here goes.
My elderly mum moved out of her home in February this year but kept paying her direct debits to british gas for her fuel and for the homcare service. She has now sold the house and no longer requires the annual service that comes with the homecare plan, it is up for renewal on 1st November and so I have let them know to cancel this as it is no longer required. I have also cancelled her direct debit.
How do we go about claiming back the money paid on the annual homecare service plan that expires in November 2014 as it has not been used and she will not be using the free annual service? Many thanks0 -
Give them a ring and ask them.
The annual service she has paid for will have been the last one carried out.
Annual services are done after renewal. So she is not due a refund for this.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0
