IKEA Kitchen units - deeper worktop?

Hi guys,

I was wondering if any of you had experience fitting different branded worktops to Ikea kitchen cabinets.

We are ordering an Ikea kitchen but would like to source laminate worktops elsewhere. However, we are having problems finding the 620mm deep ones recommended by IKEA.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I fit kitchens for a living. 620 is a non-standard size. You would need to get find a spevalist worktop supplier and get them cut out of a beakfast bar. However, Howdens worktops ate 616 deep, which may suit. Tjy cme in 3 metre lengths.

We have Magnet tops on an Ikea kitchen. I can't remember if it's a breakfast bar that's been cut down. It might be.

    Hi guys,

Thank you so much for the quick replies. Great help!

I had a look at howdens but didn't really like the look of anything to be honest....

But....just called magnet and they do 665mm deep worktops which can be cut to size so I will be popping in there later on.

Hi phill, we are having our kitchen fitted in october and just got 3 quotes in that are coming at around £1600 on average to fit around 16 Ikea cabinets kitchen. This is just the installation of the kitchen, no plumbing or electrics or anything else.

I would love to hear your thoughts on the quote. Is it about right or a bit too dear.

    Thank you

If you have had 3 quotes at around the same price, then thats the market rate for your location and the work involved.

I am not sure myself :-)
Just didn't find anything that grabbed me.
It needs to be laminate as we are on a tight budget. I immediately eliminate all the wood looking ones as they are my least favourites and I am looking for a lighter colour.

Yes. asking prices on here is pretty pointless as it varies so much dependent on location and layout.;)
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
