Help ... cannot re-install driver!

Hi all,
A couple of months ago I purchased a very cheap digital camera from ebay (300k pixels) to use as a web cam for ebay selling. It came with a CD ROM for Photoimpressions/Fun House and worked great for this purpose.
After a clean-up operation, the software was accidently deleted from Programs and I reinstalled it from the CD ROM. However, there is a problem with the driver and I can't now get it back and so can't download photos to the computer.
I've contacted the guy I bought it from and, although initially quite helpful, none of his suggestions worked and he's now not replying to my emails. There's no manufacturer listed anywhere and I'm stuck! The message I keep getting is "No photos in camera". The driver is not listed in Device Manager and, although I've now reinstalled a number of times, nothing makes any difference.
I've checked the USB cable, downloaded the software disabling anti-virus software, etc., but nothing works.
If anyone can suggest anything, I'd be really grateful.

If your camera is plugged into your computer and switched on, does it not show up in my computer as a removable drive? If it does, then you can copy the pics to anywhere you like on your computer.
My camera never needed a driver to load the pics onto the computer. The disc that came with mine only contained a picture editor which I already had, so I use my own software. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

I can't see it anywhere in My Computer. At one time, the camera was listed under Device Manager but, after a number of reinstalls, it's now disappeared.Wins since 2009 = £17,600MANY THANKS TO ALL OPS0 -

if you have unistalled the driver, when you plug the camera back in the pc 'should' find it. Possible bad connection? Alternatively, search for new hardware when camera connected, and if not found load it manually from the options available..0

Don't know if this is any use but you could try looking for a driver at https://www.drivers.com
Best of luck

The pc hasn't tried to find it unfortunately. I've tried to search for new hardware and load from the disc, but nothing is appearing under Imaging Device in Device Manager (which is where the camera used to show up). Do wish I was more IT minded!Wins since 2009 = £17,600MANY THANKS TO ALL OPS0 -

Thanks for trying John. This just tells me that 75% of my drivers apparently need updating(?) and, if I pay them 30$, they'll do it for me.Wins since 2009 = £17,600MANY THANKS TO ALL OPS0 -

Thanks ... had a look, but as no manufacturer is listed on the camera or info, don't think I've got much chance of finding a driver.
All I know is that the camera is Chinese ...Wins since 2009 = £17,600MANY THANKS TO ALL OPS0 -
do you leave the camera cable plugged into the usb port?
Try unplugging it.
Then when you reboot, plug it back in and plug the camera in.It should say new hardware found etc.
Failing that, plug it into a different usb port and try again.0
