Apologies, I didn't get to post on the Daily yesterday.
Belated Hoppy Birdday DG.

I love the big brown and white ones who spin webs in hedges at this time of year and sit in the middle waiting for thier fly lunches to come across and on wet days have webs full of water drop diamonds that sparkle in the sun, so pretty.
I agree, the webs are fantastic; such a feat of engineering! I do wish they wouldn't build them indoors without planning permission, though!:D

Good afternoon everyone
Late one from me as am in totally apathetic mood. I am trying very hard to pretend that:
1) I am not going in hospital on Monday
2) That DH is not going back to hated job on Tuesday and I will hate seeing him constantly miserable again and counting the days until half terms/end of term holidays etc
3) That my "new" job, only 8 months there after a redundancy, is now also under threat
I am also extremely cheesed off with our neighbour who was hammering until 10:30pm last night, the builders in the street who woke us up at 7am this morning and the kids from the next street who seem to only want to play in our road and think it's acceptable to jump over front garden walls and race the length of the road while doing so and screaming at the top of their voices every night until 10pm or so.
Sorry rant over. Stress levels through the roof and I need to stop it and stop the pity party I am wallowing in.
Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those that need or just want them. Keep well and safe and have a lovely day.

Hester
I know you must be too Hester, every time I read your posts about your job, it makes me so angry the way you are treated. DH is a teacher and he never wanted to do all the other stuff associated with promotions. Once he was deputy head of lower school and he just hated it because he would be called away from teaching to sort out year 7 fights or to speak to a kid's mum about his bag being thrown out of the window and his yoghurt breaking and messing up all his books etc. Anyway he hated it so he returned to being "just" a teacher but for this sin, he is treated like an idiot by his senior staff, some of whom aren't even qualified to teach
Sorry I promised I would not rant again
And I forgot to say hello and welcome to Caz :hello:LBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Thank you for the warm welcomes.
Ttmf, as a mother to a 12 year old it saddens me to think that teachers can act so petty towards each other, aren't they supposed to be the children's role models? What your dh did was very courageous, stepping down or in some peoples eyes, demoting yourself must have been incredible difficult. He must be a very good teacher, you must be proud.
I'm glad to say we haven't been visited by any giant spiders yet, I hate them. But I know they're living in the garage, hopefully they'll stay there.
Back from school uniform shopping. Only got dd1 a blazer , tie and tights at a whopping £80. We went to a different shop than last year which apparently sells better quality blazers, so I'm hoping she'll get 2 years out of this one . All they need now is shoes, and polo shirts. Only 2 weeks left ...LBM 04/10:j

TTFTM sending you lots of hugs and healing vibes for Monday.
I know how worked up we become before an operation, but try to think you will have a nice sleep and when you wake up it will all be over with (easier said than done I know).
Will be thinking about you on Monday and hope the op is in the morning so you don't have to wait around too long. Have they given you any idea how long recovery will be?
Much love

Hi everyone,
TTFTM- wishing you all the best for your op on Monday xx
Welcome caz
Elona, I'm sure anything DH thinks will help him will at least keep him positive and give him something to focus on.Wish you were nearer,we have 2 juicers.
Not done much today really.Lyla had her stitches out and the vet was pleased with her,and she was a very good girlShe was rewarded with the first decent walk she's had in 10 days. We met a man in the fields squeaking a toy, still looking for the missing dog:(.Apparently his owners are back off holiday and had joined in the search- we could hear them calling his name.
After that we went in town to the bank and got a few bits for tea.We were going to stop for a bite to eat at a newish place but we couldnt park so gave it up as a bad job and had soup and a french stick at home.It was quite chilly in town, still not warmed up yet, what a difference from a couple of weeks ago :eek:DGC went to the Sea life centre at the Traff'd centre .
DS1 got a free ticket to watch United at Old Trafford but he's not back yet so not sure who is eating, think I'll just sort me and DH out, there are things they can get later if they are hungry.
Hope you all manage a good evening xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Afternoon All
Welcome Caz - I am so glad I don't have to get school uniforms any more!
TTFTM - Hoping all goes well for Monday, you know that everyone on here will be thinking of you. Such as shame that 'managers' don't see good teachers when they are there in front of them.
Went to the chinese cash and carry - that's an experience! Got some of the things I wanted but can't get kaffir limes/leaves anywhere. Will have a look on the interweb later.
When we were burgled last year the insurance sent some of the money on a pre-loaded card that I thought was about empty. Anyway I dug out the paperwork for it and discovered that there was still £115 odd on it. I hot-footed it to H0mebase to buy a sander, been wanting one for ages. Must remember to use the rest before the card runs out at the end of September.
Just making another pot of Jamaican red bean soup at DDs request and also making biscuits and a fruit cake whilst the oven is on. Also roasting a chicken as they were on offer in C0stco if you bought 2, I did and 1 wont fit in the freezer! It may fit in the fridge once it has cooked, cooled and been taken apart. Silly me!
Rotten weather here, hope yours is better. Take care. XX0 -
Camelot, only yesterday I saw dried kaffir lime leaves in Mr. T with the herbs and spices.
