iPhone 4s help

Recently my iPhone 4s has been fading to a black screen when using it, and switching off. It did it today again and now I can't get it to turn on at all even while forcing a hard reset !
Any ideas?

Have you tried backing it up to iTunes and then restoring to factory settings?

If you have restored the software in iTunes and it hasn't helped it sounds like it could be a hardware fault. Make an appointment for a genius in an Apple Store to check it.
