It's more general forum "etiquette" to start your own topic rather than post on old topics that have been inactive for some time - necroing old threads often causes confusion for other posters who don't notice the date and start asking the original poster for advice even if they've not been on for years ;)

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

um, replied on one thread and put up my own post?
There was no need to duplicate any post across different threads. The same people will likely respond regardless and it's irritating to read the same post more than once.

So its acceptable after 6 months and not being told they hadn't taken their fees that I still have to find the money and pay them.

I assumed that fast track had taken their fees and put the remaining £1800 in my account as no one for 6 months said anything.

Whether you think it's acceptable or not, it isn't a get out in the eyes of the law I am afraid,

Are you sure it's Barclays fault, i.e. have Barclays actually admitted this? Or is it just a case of the CMC passing the buck? Generally speaking banks will copy FDLs to both you and the CMC.

Regardless, it is unlikely to help you get out of paying I am afraid.

Case in point, "Insider101" just replied to the original post from August!
