Don't buy Hoover, don't buy from Makro!

That's not strictly true. A couple of points:- Sales of Goods Act does apply but elements can be contracted out of (I believe Makro do this)
- Business can also be consumers if the item is typically bought by consumers (again as this was from a wholesaler I don't think this would be relevent).
I know it doesn't change the outcome from the OP, but just wanted to clarify.0 -
Get your stuff from Costco in the future and they'd have given you a replacement without a problem
I've taken back a set of toaster and kettle, 2 years old, because the kettle broke - they gave the money back for both of them0 -

With respect though you can't expect wholesalers to offer the same customer service as you'd expect from a retailer, they are very different. The community here is just telling you what the legal position is. There wouldn't be much point someone offering hope and telling you to take Makro to court because you'd very likely lose as a B2B transaction.0 -

This is the consumer rights forum. Your opening post made it very clear that the washing machine was a business purchase:
and the factually correct replies reflect this."My daughter has a small business operating from home so she bought her Hoover washing machine from Makro under her business name 14 months ago
Instead of having a temper tantrum on here, it would be far more useful to your daughter if you suggested that she reads up on her legal rights as a business and not as a consumer.0 -
So sorry to hear that OP, but this is a consumer forum and members on here can only deal with the facts as they stand.sylviesinc wrote: »Message removed as no help received from this community whatsoever. My faith in humanity totally shattered.
We cannot simply make things up in order to give you information that you demand to hear, if that really effects your faith in humanity, I suggest you take the machine back to the store and DEMAND they replace the item under the Human Rights Act.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A
"Marleyboy you are a legend!"

Marleyboy You Are A Legend!
Marleyboy speaks sense
marleyboy (total legend)
Marleyboy - You are, indeed, a legend.0 -

Bad advice.
Everyone knows that the Human rights act only covers people refused free samples of Subway meatball sarnies and garages refusing to let customers pay with a credit card.0 -
