Meter reading by supplier

Not sure what's being childish about it. As said, I occasionally check that payments aren't going adrift, and so far they haven't. I'm not a meter train-spotter, having virtually no interaction with the supplier. I used to submit readings when they operated a "read and reward" scheme, but they pulled it, so I stopped.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out that if you supply readings you are less likely to face a billing !!!! up. I haven't spoken to anyone at my supplier for years, but I can provide meter readings once a month on their app.

It just seems bizarre to read your meter and then not inform the supplier, instead choosing to receive an estimated bill!

My meter is read every six months by my supplier and other than checking that I get the same reading I see no need to supply extra readings.

Sooner you get a smart meter the better Gingerbob if you cant be bothered to check your usage.
Ha, ha. Well, you never know.

But I do check usage. As I said, about once a year, just to ensure things don't go adrift, and so far they haven't. What I don't do is send readings to the supplier. Again, the reason is given; they used to pay me (Nectar points) for doing so, and now they don't. I'm not working for nothing. As it happens, they came to read the meters last week, and I think it's about 12 months since they last read them.
