    I think you're right, and I wasn't sure what 1&1 offer, but I know quite often the features are pretty limited. I'd also do the forwarding and IMAP as you suggest.

    Yes, but, as she can't be bothered to check them I don't suppose it matters much.;)
    As a try.....in the filters rule check 'Match all of the following' as opposed to 'Match any of the following' and give it a try.

    Just noticed ....
    On *my* e mail account I have a filter set to not get e mail from Jim
    In the bottom option on the filter settings, I have it set to 'ignore thread' (Lord knows why I chose that) and that *does* work ...

    I have altered MrsB's one to this now and will see how that goes ............. :o

    basically, my settings are ....
    I've set up an individual filter for each 'spammer' ...
    Match all of the following is ticked
    where the 'from' 'is' spammer@address
    ignore thread

    That seems to finally done the trick :T
