found college's run army preparation courses.
I haven't clapped eyes on a copy of the Globe & Buster for a very long time; does it still carry small ads? If so, would it be worth your while putting in a shout for advice / info from other Bootnecks? Anything on ARRSE?
Have you considered seasonal work? agricultural / foredeck gorilla / boatyard matey / lifeguard ?
And.......... utter desparation from me;) get yourself down to the Puffing Billy and chew it over.
ETA are you on Linkedin?.....................I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

- you could probably find your way from a duty management type of role to something like this:

I'm sure you mean to be helpful but the OP hasn't got a hope in hell of getting a job like those. Successful applicants for that sort of thing will have post graduate degrees and years of relevant experience.0 -
Could I make the very obvious suggestion that you make an appointment to duscuss things with a qualified Careers Adviser - anything else is just brainstorming.

Have a look at the prospects website: http://www.prospects.ac.uk/sectors.htm. It should give you lots of ideas about different jobs within a sector. I know it is aimed at graduates but should give you some ideas about what you do/don't want. When you have an idea of the type of jobs/sectors that you would like to work in then I would do as the previous poster suggested and have a chat with a local careers adviser.
When you know what sort of industry/position you are aiming at you can start trying to build contacts. Try linked in as well, as that might help you get a foot in the door somewhere.
