Ridiculously early flight times

ha ha , not that different.
the first place i visit, whenever we have an early afternoon flight home, is the chippy that is only 100 yards away from my front door..Corduroy pillows are making headlines! Back home in London now after 27years wait! Duvet know it's Christmas, not original, it's a cover.0 -
We have taken the ferry to Ireland many times and have often got the ferry around 5-6am which can mean leaving the house as early as 2am to get there in time. Now that is a real awkward time for me as you either have to stay up overnight, which is not ideal when you'll be driving, or you have to go to bed ridiculously early the day before in order to get up at 1am (not easy for me as I usually don't go to bed til after 2am!).
So, considering that, 7am sounds great!

Our flights to Ibiza are always at 6am, so we get up at 2.30ish as I like to get to the airport early. Although an hour later would be better, I much prefer early flights on the whole. As others have said, you're on your sunbed with a nice drink by late morning. Coming home, well, I just want to get home and unpacked and washing machine on, and not hanging around all day at the resort. This year I tried not going to bed before leaving for the airport, as I never sleep well the night before a holiday anyway, and this worked surprisingly well. Little or no sleep for 24 hours didn't stop me having a late night with friends at our hotel to celebrate the first day!0

We love early morning flights....creates an excitement loading up the car in the dead of the night and whisking away.
We have our flight home from turkey leaving at 3:45am this year - now! that does NOT fill me with excitement - we will have been up for probably the best part of the day and will have to leave resort at 12am ish...0 -

we had that last year - it wasn't fun. We had a midnight checkout of our hotel on our last day, but it didn't really help to be honest - I tried to get some sleep in the evening but failed miserably, which made the journey to the airport, check-in, and flight seem like a very long and boring process.0 -
Apart from the late daytime /evening flights, the only other ones I try to stay clear of, are the flights which depart on a Friday or Saturday Morning. This is due to every one I have flown on , on a Friday/Saturday having a plane load of Stag/Hen parties, boozed up to the eyeballs at 6am and shouting during the entire flight.
Same goes for Monday return flights too.0 -
People complain about early flights.
Well the planes do not sit on the ground throughout daylight hours so it's,
A. Bad luck
B. You picked one of the cheaper deals with the early/late flights being
one reason it's cheap.Turning left avoids some of the idiots (only some)0 -
The TO know you will be grateful for any flight from a regional airport and you will pay much more for the once a week flight so they pick the time most convenient to them0

I had a flight back from Delhi which left at something like 3am. I was in the hotel bar until midnight, checked out and then went straight to the airport. On the plane had a quick G&T, refused any food, and then slept all of the way home. It was one of the best flights I've ever had.0 -
I agree. We have been looking at flight times from Bristol, and the majority we are interested in are very early flight times. As we live in Cornwall and it is 3 hours driving time from the airport, this would have to mean the extra expense of an overnight stay near the airport. We much prefer between lunch time and evening flights for this reason.0
