Our flight was delayed today arrived to collect car from europcar but they'd gone home left a number of us stranded. The girls on the airport desk did what they could ringing the rep and main numbers.
Have ended up getting a taxi to a hotel. Two issues I'm now out of pocket and still no car. The airport office only opens when a flight comes in none tomorrow and they've switched off their mobile.
Not a great start to a holiday.

Did you book direct? Where they aware of your flight number? Did you call the local desk to inform them of your flight delay?0

Booked online. Yes aware of flight number and yes aware of delay informed by airport and ourselves. The futures bright the future is Ginger0

Would suggest anyone arriving on a delayed flight into Tours avoid europcar as they won't wait for delayed planes. The futures bright the future is Ginger0

If you booked direct with Europcar, check their T&C. We have no idea as to how long the flight was delayed and what time you arrived.8.3 Flight / Train delay
At airport and railway rental stations, the reservation is guaranteed for one (1) hour after the actual flight/train arrival time if the reservation has been quoted with a flight or train number.
In the event of a flight/train delay beyond the guaranteed period, we serve up to 1h after the actual time of arrival, and at some airport /railway rental stations may remain open up to a maximum of 2 hours after the normal closing time. In such a case, an after-hours charge may apply.

So was it more than two hours after their normal closing time?
I would be claiming for the cost plus compensation. I would have taken a car from whoever was open and charged the cost to Europcar.0 -
Thanks. Have finally sorted a car and emailed all my expenses to europcar.
Flight landed 2.55 late and only hertz stayed open even though lots of people had booked europcars.
Felt sorry for the ladies on the info desk as getting lots of flak due to europcar. The futures bright the future is Ginger0 -

Sorry to hijack the thread, I just wondered whether you had any luck emailing Europcar? I have been trying to contact them regarding charges to my account which were applied after I returned the car to them but I'm not getting any response. I've tried Europcar in Spain (where I hired the car), and also in the UK.0 -
