That is ridiculous. Most people are active well into their 70s, 80s and 90s. Those whose quality of life is severely afflicted by a debilitating injury or disease should not be discriminated against just because of their age.
If you didn't have so many posts under your belt, I'd consider you a troll.0 -
Why did you post that offensive remark? If you didn't have so many posts under your belt, I'd consider you a troll.
I have read the gov websites and it seemed to me those disabled under 65 who qualified for DLA (higher rate)/ PIP (enhanced rate) were entitled to claim free road fund license but those over 65 with the same disability who quailified for AA (higher rate) were not. I thought I had missed something and was looking for help from the good people on MSE forum.
I have asked genuine questions and received helpful advice.
You on the other hand have posted abuse to get me to bite and thus start an argument

missile,
You've had your 65 question answered :
- your own #1
- nannytone in #3
- yourself again in #4
- me in #7
- you again in#8
- nannytone again in #10
- you again in#13
The common denominator in all those #numbers is the cut off point at 'pensionable age' not retirement age which was legislated and arbitrary at age 65. At pensionable age all manner of benefits change, I view AA as a generous not means-tested benefit paid regardless of income, savings or National Insurance, contribution record and its tax free. [Lower rate - £54.45 Higher rate - £81.30] to that section of society who need and are entitled to the additional financial help. Most people of both genders can now work for as long as they want to, revised GOV thinking on this matter in 2013 decided that the rise "in line with life expectancy" means that future generations should spend up to a third of their adult life in retirement. The current state pension age is 65 for men and 61 and 9 months for women, by 2018 this age will equalise for both genders at 65.
If you had posed the full extent of your question in #1 - I for one would have seen what was coming and stayed well clear of your thread and avoided being dragged into the Arms. A couple of your posts are irrelevant other than I suspect whining because have to pay car tax. Did you really expect the GOV to pay £200 quid a year to the rising 10 million pensioner people in the UK ?Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. Its MSE, and, I was stating my opinion on the facts clearly laid out by timeline in this thread, as you said to the poster #sadandlonely# on 01-05-2014 at 9:46 PM - """Don't post on here if you don't like people to have their own opinion"""Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. My comment is nothing to do with liking the answer or not. I have full knowledge of the situation re: free road tax, DLA, AA & PIP having worked for the department for a number of years.
My comment is relating to Richie's obnoxious, rude and somewhat sarcastic attitude when answering people's questions.0 -

.
Working for an outfit like that, you're probably used to dealing with people offering you a more obsequious attitude and it looks like that it's all spilled over into your real life.

I saw nothing rude or obnoxious other than your own posts. Richie stated FACTS, you don't like those facts. There's nothing he or anyone else can do to make them better. My comment is nothing to do with liking the answer or not.
