Smoking at Glasgow airport

Evening all, just a quick question for the people who have flown from Glasgow recently. I've heard a rumour there is now a smoking area after security, can anyone confirm this is true? And if so where abouts is it?
Thanks a lot

From the airport website:-Smoking areas
If you smoke, you are permitted to do so only in our clearly signposted areas outside the terminal. Smoking is banned by law in enclosed public spaces in Scotland – this includes all terminal buildings at Glasgow Airport.
Individuals smoking outwith these areas are liable to receive a fixed penalty fine of £50.
Electronic cigarettes are not permitted within the terminal buildings please use the designated smoking areas.0 -
Hi, I've read that but it doesn't really answer my question, thanks for the reply.0

Your question is answered in Wammer's quote - smoking is only permitted outside the terminal (before you check in).0

I'm assuming you have both flown from there very recently then?0

It would be illegal for Glasgow Airport to have a smoking area inside the terminal, so having flown from there recently or not is irrelevant. The law is a better guide than what some bloke said to you while you were hanging around outside the pub getting one more desperate fix.0

Seriously , what has the law got to do with having a smoking area after security? So can I please make a polite request that all non/anti smoking keyboard warriors stay out this thread?
Thanks ever so much!0 -

Thanks for the sensible reply mate, much appreciated, also I have just stumbled across this for any other smoker that's interested.
Smoking Areas
Glasgow Airport is a very special environment indeed, an environment through which a vast number of travellers pass, an environment in constant use 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 52 weeks a year. With so many people passing through, it is important that it is kept as safe, clean and comfortable as possible - and that means allocating clean air space to non-smokers. But we do not want to deny smokers their comfort either - that is why we have allocated smoking to specific designated areas beyond security search on all three piers. We would ask you to extinguish your cigarette before entering the building, and refrain from smoking until you enter a designated area (in catering outlets or on the departures piers). Alternatively, any member of our staff will be only too willing to direct you to a smoking area.

I have a feeling that is out of date. Certainly didn't notice any smoking areas about a month ago. There used to be a smoking area at the very end of the right hand pier.0
