                    Hi All, :j
Going on a trip in October and we are leaving on a Saturday and coming back on a Wednesday evening from Heathrow. We are 4 adults travelling with luggage for 2.5 weeks from 60 miles away in Bedfordshire.
I've looked at train tickets with a Network railcard and the return trip for the days/times comes up as £185 for the 4 of us.
If there was a car big enough to fit us all and our luggage, we would ask a friend to drive us there, but I don't think it's possible to fit all of this in any of our cars.
Anyone has any other suggestion?

It's hard to give a definitive answer without knowing exactly where you're starting. Any coaches available?
That seems a relatively expensive rail journey. But national rail and other rail websites will default to Heathrow Express for Paddington - Heathrow which although quick is very expensive. However they sometimes have promotions or group deals which may make it cheaper to book the Heathrow express tickets separately to your other rail tickets.
There's also the Heathrow Connect train which is cheaper but takes longer than Heathrow Express on the same route. Or the Underground. Cheap but takes even longer.0

A taxi between the 4 of you would probably be cheaper and the ones where i live have a couple of vans/minibuses might be worth making a few phone calls0

            1. Get some quotes from local taxi companies for an MPV transfer.
 2. Can you take two cars?0

National Express might offer a convenient service... or see if you can easily get to Watford and catch the airport link bus from there.
Otherwise, see if you can get yourselves Oyster cards and find a way to get to either Slough or Hayes & Harlington Station: there are buses from these to Heathrow at very low cost, particularly if you pay by Oyster.0

            Hi,
 Thanks for your tips!!!
I'll look into the coaches, but the taxi sounds too expensive. The £185 is for getting there and back. £100+/trip for a people carrier taxi won't cut it 0 0

            How about National Express?0

Get a fare via Clapham Junction to Feltham and pick up the local bus to the terminals from there (use Oyster)I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

I don't know where you are in Beds, but there are very regular Nat Express coaches from Luton Airport to Heathrow. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Why not just take two cars? Looking at purple parking prices for Sat 11 Oct to Weds 15 Oct is only £34 a car. So much cheaper than train / taxis etc, and convenient for luggage.0
