Loss of bargain

Bought some beer bottles for storing home brew over the last few days from a seller on amazon. Price was £5.25 for 40 so ordered 3 batches in total.
Have received emails to say that all of them have been dispatched, with expected delivery date of Thursday this week.
On reading some homebrew forums, it appears that some others have also ordered these bottles, and have only received one.
My amazon orders and dispatch emails all state 40 bottles, so is that not a contract to supply for the price I've paid?
As far as I know, the dispatch email constitutes acceptance of the order. I'm sure loss of bargain is something that is not done very often, just interested to see where I stand. I assume that I will be receiving my money back, but I really need the bottles as I need to store some beer:rotfl:

If they have only dispatched one then they have not 'agreed' to the contract.
if they had dispatched 40, then yes, you would be entitled to keep those 40 as they have fulfilled the contract.
However, by sending one they are not agreeing to the contract for 40 bottles at £5.25, and I very much doubt they will send you an additional 39 bottles.0 -

depends on the wording o the ad...... They might have gotten you on a technicality, or they may be sending you 40. Who knows until you read it/wait 4 delivery....
Speculating is pointless though

The email states they have dispatched 1 batch of 40, then the next email states 2 batches of 40, as I ordered them separately.marliepanda wrote: »If they have only dispatched one then they have not 'agreed' to the contract.

Everything about the transaction has stated 40 bottles, from advert, to confirmation of order and then to dispatch email.
Will be interesting to see what arrives. I thought for an online transaction the contract was formed on confirmation of dispatch?0 -

It does depend what they have actually sent.
Mistakes do happen though, I once ordered 1 box of ten sachets of cat food (so exciting yeah?!) they actually sent me 1 crate of the boxes of cat food, instead of one box.
Much fun was had by my cats.0 -
I did have a look at their details but could not see anything about it, only stuff about returns.
This is the shop

It was an error on the webpage. The correct price should have been £75.99 for the 40 bottles, so I can't see you getting them for £5 with free postage but you may be lucky.
The problem with pricing errors like this is that they get publicised on loads of forums leading to dozens of orders going in. If only one or two people ordered they might get away with it, but I can't see a company letting go of all of their stock for pennies.

shows exactly what happens. Loads of people placing multiple orders.0 -

It was 40 500ml bottles for £5.25, same as George posted.
I was linked by a mate on another forum so was not sure it was a pricing error, but they sold out then listed some more stock.
It's not there at the moment though. Let's see what we get, they can have their one bottle back, £5.25 foe one bottle and not even any beer in it!0 -
You werent sure if it was a pricing error, how much would you have expected to pay then?It was 40 500ml bottles for £5.25, same as George posted.
