    Great post, Fiery Angel!

The only thing I would add to this is that its is well worth stocking up on Lidl white and dark chocolate bars when it is on 1/2 price offer, for just this purpose. It's not the best BUT when you melt it down and add other nice things to it no-one seems to realise just how cheap it is. Candied peel and nuts are especially good! Buying both white and dark allows for a little alchemy, you can adjust to taste. I love chocolate but I cannot stand the milk chocolate in the same range.

Ooh thanks for that, I'll keep a look out. I don't like milk chocolate at all so if I ever make anything for myself I usually just buy supermarket own brand of dark chocolate - like you say, no one can tell the difference when it's full of other goodies!:rotfl:
  • Hi all,

I have nother good idea for the icecream/ movie hampers...

instead of a DVD you can get Blinkbox gift cards (from tesco). You do not need to subcripe with them and can pay per film. Some films are 99p!!

Also Home bargins have loads of sprinkles/edible glitter for a fraction of the price of places like lakeland!

Although speaking of lakeland they have chocolate spoon moulds for 99p (discontinued stock) So you could always make some of these up to add to the hampers!

I'm getting really excited for Christmas now!!

  • Hello All :wave.
So glad I found this thread, last year I left things so late and I'm sorry to say still paying Christmas off :(, so I need to get back to the homemade, hamper style Christmas of the year before.
You have some great ideas, thanks for sharing! I will try to post rather than lurck along with you.
I did find a popcorn tub for a hamper that I plan doing for my brother, they are a good size and were only a pound in world - bargain! Picked you two as the naughty elves may make a movie hamper for the children on nite when having a rest from his elf mischief, (or when I run out of ideas for him, lol)

Also love pintrest, I could loose hrs on that site and have so many things I want to try, especially for Halloween my other fave along with Christmas

It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas :xmastree:

How do these work? Do you know? Thinking of doing a fair few movie hampers so these would be perfect rather than trying to guess what DVDs they would like/haven't got or seen!

Off to pound land tonight to try pick up some popcorn buckets :)
