I'm looking to replace my induction hob, my current one came with the house and has died on me! Any ideas what to look for re spec etc. It would be very pricey to replace like for like, but is it worth the extra expense? Any ideas or recommendations. Cheers

Have you work out what's wrong with the one you have?0

We had an intermittent fault on one side - the display flashed and unit bleeped repeatedly. This could sometimes be reset by turning power off and back on. Now we have no lights just continuous bleeping. The lock button/light is still working! Struggling to find local repair company, and online search suggests the likely necessary parts will be expensive.0

We had one in our French house whilst working there, it had two induction and two halogen rings which was great as some pans do not work on induction. Aluminium pressure cooker, jam pan etc.
Looking for the same thing here but not found an affordable one.0 -

I have a cooker with halogen hob, at the moment (induction hob for the new kitchen) and recall that neither copper nor aluminium must not be used on a ceramic hob , as the latter can fuse with the surface. I had to buy special triple based, non-magnetic pans and now have to ditch these for magnetic ones, when the new hob is fitted.
I would dread a combination hob, in case I made the expensive mistake of putting the wrong pans on each part.0 -
Having in the past had gas, electric "old fashioned" rimgs and electric halogen type, we chose an induction hob 6 years ago and absolutely love it. We went for the 70cm AEG that instead of 4 circular sized rings has 4 equal sized areas - but being induction each area only heats the area that has a magnetic pan over it. Means you can use any size pan on any of the 4 areas - or can put a long fish kettle across 2 areas and use both! Only problem we have is with small saucepans - minimum size of the magnetic base area is either 120 or 130mm, not sure which, but our 128mm Le Creuset TNS small pans play up. Our smallest full stainless steamer, though, is fine.0

SOS My 4yr old AEG induction hob blinking alarm with letter L on all four sides. Funniest part, that it was fine to fry the eggs in the morning, but did not want to come on in the evening. It did not have a lot of use as I mostly cook with thermomix, but alas it is out of warrantee:( Anyone knows how to reset it, please? I tried the oldest fuse "on and off" trick in the book already...

Ta
L usually means that it is locked.
Have you tried unlocking it?
There might be a padlock sign - try pressing thay for a few seconds, this should unlock it.0
