Boots contact lense scheme ...check your DD

I'm exactly the same fififoofoo. I only order 30 pairs a month because it's cheaper - then phone up every couple to pause the DD until I need more again. It's no big deal. I do think it's a bit naff they charge more if you order less, but it's up to them unfortunately.
If you whinge a lot and threaten to leave they might reduce it for you, but I don't know. Hope you can work it out though - I do like the free check ups anytime. I am going to see how much it costs to just buy mine over the counter though!0 -
I suspect the comment was in relation to your prescription remaining unchanged for all that time (eyesight deteriorates as people age), not that the glasses themselves lasted that long.
LOL, oh yeah!
Well the first time was due to my eyesight changing. The second was because the lenses were scratched and irritating, but it was so long back I can't remember if I had a new prescription. I know they tried very hard to sell me soft lenses and I had to insist I wanted just what I was used to - and they eventually admitted that soft lenses don't correct vision as well as hard lenses (or rgp ones it seems).

I also remember the optician was fascinated that I could move my eyes independently - I've had a lazy eye since birth and only ever use one eye at a time.
I suspect I won't be using contact lenses for much longer. I've been told I have cateracts in both eyes so it'll be all change once they are treated.0 -

No my comment was amazement that you have made those lenses last such a long time.0 -
Check what your DD scheme includes.
All checkups, sheduled delivery (by post to home?), discounts off glasses maybe? You don't usually get any of that if you buy over the counter.0 -
Well I've just called to check on status and they've told me that I've been charged correctly i.e. £30.90 for my 30 prs on the scheme rather than the £25 over the counter.
This is because I am getting check ups for lenses, check up for glasses, half price frames and 10% off boots own brand toiletries, oh and free delivery to my house for the lenses.
So now I have to decide if the £23.60 (£5.90 per quarter) I am paying extra is worth what I'm getting. This year I haven't had any new frames, or a new prescription, and have saved around £5 in the toiletries.
I am not sure that the scheme should be called a reward scheme as I am not really being rewarded with anything that another firm would not give me for free if I was buying their lenses and am paying £23.60 to save £5..
Tesco charging £15 for both tests and £54 for 90 prs (totalling £69 for 90 prs)- where I am being charged £30.90 for 30 prs (i.e. £92.70 for Boots)
It's a no brainer isn't it?
loathed to change but I hate being ripped off..
Any thoughts anyone?0
