Yet more problems with First Direct now - a 20-30 minute fact find now needed just to open a Regular Saver account (or any other additional account), even when you're a longstanding customer.

How can a once excellent bank go so badly wrong?

Is wasting 30 minutes of your life not a problem for you?

Certainly is a problem for me and why as per the other thread if FD decide to stop the opening of a new regular saver to replace an expired one online and require a 20 minute telephone conversation about it I will use another banks regular saver instead as I would rather sacrifice one or two per cent of interest than have to spend twenty minutes listening to terms and conditions or answering questions.

No it's not. Everyone is different, i'm a very patient person. If you don't have 30 minutes to spare, call them back when you do.

There is just zero reason to make a repeat customer for your Regular Saver to sit through recitals of unchanged T&Cs.

There obviously is a reason, if thats what they want to do, no amount of moaning will change it, there will still be plenty of people who are prepared to listen.

Good for them. For the rest of us I would recommend going to a proper bank.

It might be obvious to you (have FD employees been explained the reason? If so, what are the reasons?) but it isn't to me, and judging by other posts, not to anyone else either.

It's incredibly arrogant to essentially suggest "take it or leave it". FD, like all other businesses, exist because they have customers. It seems utterly bizarre to deliberately annoy customers.

I have 3 hours to spare or even more. I just want my time to be spent on something useful, not wasted.
