Liverpool Airport (JLA) - They charged me £2, the B@$^£#$

Exactly how were you funnelled into the car park? Can you explain this?
Reference picture
I noticed after the event there is a 2 foot x 2.5 foot sign with small text as you approach the main roundabout about 100 yards before.
Once you turn left at the main roundabout there is no other option but to go through the drop off area as all the other exits you can see are blocked- or face the ANPR man and his tickets.
Doing some quick sums
12 hours of traffic - one car every 15 secs - two lanes at £2
= 12*60*60/15*2 = £5760 per day = £40,000 per week = (x200)
= £8 million per year - ..... me!!!!! OMGAdvice is cheap! Hence their is a lot of it about!

What about the right at the small roundabout after turning left at the large roundabout at the end, or have they blocked that?
"Blocked" with a locked gate - would have taken photos but no doubt they would have me up on anti terrorism charges!
The google picture must be pretty old - theres even a load of large shrubs now!Advice is cheap! Hence their is a lot of it about!

Serious question;
I've also been in a not-parked but paid situation before.
Nowadays, I always carry a socket set in my car (my breakdown cover!) and have noticed that car park barriers are generally mounted using typical hex bolts.
Where would one stand legally with removing the barrier in a non-damaging way, when they hadn't parked? Would refitting it after driving out be necessary or irrelevant?0 -
Big respect to everyone on this thread who believes in taking a stand against this scam which now seems to be in operation at most UK airports.
But the trouble is, any behaviour at an airport which falls below absolute social obedience is likely to be treated as a "security issue" nowadays and will have the heavily armed anti-terror goons descending on you in a matter of seconds. The same goes if you raise an objection to having to pay £1 for a "compliant" plastic bag for your toiletries, because the one you brought yourself was apparently 10cm too wide.
The objectives of security and profiteering have become conflated, with the police only too happy to wade in if anyone shows a touch of annoyance.0 -
Apologies for hijacking this thread but I want to ask taxiphil about an harassment case referenced on another thread (old and closed). And your PM box is full !! (So I'm told).
Could you PM me please ?
Thanks !0 -
I'm not convinced he's going to notice you on a thread which he hasn't posted on since August last year!0

If his PM inbox is full (or he simply has his settings set to no PMs) then it's highly unlikely he'll see your request.0
