Upgrading to sky sports

Does anybody know if I upgrade to sky sports, am I tied up with a yr contract? I usually cancelled when the sports seasons are over. Thanks

Its still a 31 day contract if you are an existing Sky subscriber and all you are doing is upgrading to Sports.

The only time you might be put on a 12 month contract is if you are subscribing with an exclusive re-contracting offer of which you will be advised before you sign up. If it is just a basic upgrade you can then downgrade your package at any time with the standard 31 days notice period.

Taking any Premium channels (Sports/Movies) does not affect your current rolling contract.

However, if you take advantage of "free broadband" as a Sky Sports subscriber you most certainly will be back in a minimum term.

Yes - that's correct. Although you won't be tied into Sky Sports for the full term - merely Sky TV in that circumstance. If you took advantage of the free broadband for 2 years offer but cancelled Sky Sports you would simply start paying the full broadband charge (e.g. £7.50 a month unlimited).

Also I noticed that Sky are currently applying a £20 credit for a Sports upgrade for some customers - so if you are lucky the first month almost for free.
