  • £8500 GONE!!!!!!!!:j:j:j

I dont know whether to be excited or scared!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My hand was literally shaking when I hit the confirm button. I have basically shifted money around from one account to another to gather £8500 together. Next couple of months will be a wee bit tight but we will manage. I just couldnt miss the opportunity to overpay without it counting towards our 10%. Our debt is now under £175000 :j:j:j

  • So, how many months/years will that have shaved off my mortgage??? I have two spreadsheets I use. The simple one says we will now be mortgage free in Feb 2037 and the other one (locoblades mega fancy) hasnt changed the end date at all. I am guessing I am doing something wrong with it?? Any clues?????

Well done :j. Sorry, can't help you with locoblades spreadsheet. I do have one of my own which is fairly accurate - if you drop me a PM with your email address I'll send you it over.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

  • Thank you guys :)

I think the reality of belt tightening is hitting me this morning but in a good way. I am going to make a list of our freezer food and start trying to work our way through it.

Downloaded YNAB last night and OMG it is a minefield. I think it will take me a long while to get the hang of it. I think it makes is worse as we tend to put all our spending on Mr T's mastercard to accumulate all the lovely points but I dont know how this will translate onto the budget. Off to play around with it some more.

On a positive, non mse, note we are getting our lawn seeded today - finally!! We moved in in May and only now are we getting it done. Fx it doesnt rain today!!!

  • Hey coffee,
There is a tutorial on the website that talks about using a credit card and paying it off each month. I used the trial without watching the vids properly and do regret it because it makes a lot more sense now! You can watch a lot of the stuff without starting your trial.

Hurrah to your lawn seeding! x
