    Hi...
Newbie poster seeking advice please (so be gentle please)!

... as it turns out I have had PPI on my current count since the early/ mid 1990's.

Most people have a OD limit - some people will go over that limit, but I'm assuming the bank would reject any cheques over and above a certain percentage of the OD limit.

So on that basis, I don't quite get the need for PPI on a current account?

Presumably also, as the payments were taken every month, then its paid regardless of using the overdraft or not?

If this was for an overdraft at the time, and was not used thereafter, then 20 yrs is too long to not notice. Equally, if a bank has been deducting PPI for an OD that was not used for such a long time, then that does seem blatant.

Edit: Oops did not see the most recent post from OP. <£50 occasionally - presumably the OD limit was relatively small therefore and the PPI costs were relative?

I was charged monthly regardless and yes, the PPI charges were small amounts each time(it appears to have fluctuated, but no more than a couple of pounds each time).
So small numbers (compared to other posters), which is why I glossed over it, rather than questioning it.
