That's nowhere near as much fun as swapping the punctuation mark keytops on the keyboard of someone who's not a touch-typist.

Or rotating their display in monitor settings so the whole screen's inverted.

Or transposing USB leads so A's mouse is attached to B's computer.

The cables are normally the same as for kettles and the like, kettles have a habit of having shortish cables for safety.

I would lay good money someone has swapped your cable with their kettle or home computer so they have a cable long enough for their home

our large, well staffed and funded IT department
many companies don't have those. As yours does you'd have done better to email them rather than posting here.

They did. They said so in post 3.

Do you think that emailing their IT department somehow precludes them from posting on a 'vents' forum?

Also putting a piece of Sellotape over the mouse sensor in the bottom works well

  • Or before you move away from your desk, change the keyboard language - puts off people using your machine (and if they send quick emails and they touch type, they will be gobbledygook!) I used to work with someone who left her son (a 12-year old computer virus on legs) in the office for a couple of minutes while she went to the loo, he managed to change over the language on 3 computers...much confusion!

Pressing 'print screen' while on the desktop, then setting that image to the desktop background is always a good one too.

Rampant Recycler I've been Money Tipped!
I have two people in the office who like to hum..loudly.

It's so annoying, especially when I have a headache.
