corfu in mid oct

Hi all my sister is organising a trip to Corfu in Oct all inclusive for 300ish per person at the mareblue hotel. Hotel looks fine for the price but anyone know if it is really cold in Corfu in Oct as it seems to be the equivalent to spring in Britain (ie hit and miss) Any other things I should know for Corfu in Oct?

Havent been to Corfu OCT but Spain was ok, as was Cyorus and Turkey.
Anywhere in the Med is going to be ok. Mild, rather than hot, although we have had hot too. Chance of rain, but hey ho. Pay cheap take your chance. We have always been lucky, except 1 year in Mallorca where it rained 4 days out of 7. Not bad out of 15 years.
Further East u go the better.

I went to Rhodes for the first 2 weeks in october, self catering. First week it was good warm westher, but the 2nd week was freezing cold at night. We slept in the warmest clothes we had and kept the hob on for heating! Another tourist loaned me a cardi
Walking round at night was freezing out!

You will be warmer if in a hotel but take warm clothes and jacket.

And Rhodes is much further South and East than Corfu!

I've been to Corfu, Zante & Kefalonia (all in the same group of Greek islands (Ionian) in September and had a fair bit of rain.

Similar question asked yesterday about weather in Zante in October - as I said Corfu & Zante are in the same island group:

It is hit and miss in Corfu in October. Generally days will be warm, nights will be chilly but sea temperature is still reasonable so you can still have a swim in the sea. (the sea is probably warmer than the pool!)

As you say though, the chance of rain is increased. Are you looking at early october or the end of october? If early I would say risk it and take the chance, but if the end of october then no don't risk it.

Most of Europe apart from the Canaries can be hit or miss at the end of October though including Turkey (i used to live there), Portugal (went in October 2 years ago and had a week of constant rain!) and some parts of Spain too so you take your chance wherever you go.

  • Thanks guys apparently it is booked so we will see. It is all inclusive with a heated pool apparently so if we can get up to 20 that is short wearing whether in my opinion. Will take jackets/jumpers for the evenings as well

Many years ago I regularly went to Corfu (north east coast) in early October.
Weather was mostly hot during the day but, did need a shawl for the evenings.
Have a great time, there are some beautiful areas on the island.

i have booked to go Corfu in Oct.. was a bit doubtful reading reviews places closing down for winter... so i have opted for nearer Corfu town which is open all yr round and a number of people have told me it's the best time of yr to go.. low 20's during the day the sea will still be warm enough to swim in... just hope they are right... we got an all inclusive week for under £200 per head ;)
