There were no 'no parking' signs and I wasn't in a car park. I was on a road with no markings. A woman who also parked there just said it was unenforceable and to bin it. Plus, last time something similar happened (just a letter that time - no ticket on the window) the advice here was to bin it.
Why don't you just go on the JAS website and find their appeals address and send them the standard template appeal by snail mail, mentioning only the Car registration and date of ticket at the top? Send it on or around day 21/24 which is best for a JAS appeal, avoids all the TNC letters rubbish and trying to claw it back to POPLA stage. Not insurmountable but not fun either! A faster appeal is best for a JAS ticket so try it (not saying who was driving, in fact don't say who you are so remove 'I am the keeper' from the template as well and just say 'This is my appeal regarding the parking ticket on my vehicle registration number xxxxxx on xx/07/14'... as your introduction.).PRIVATE 'PCN'? Thank you, Coupon-Mad. I'll do that.
Redx, I'm not blaming a random woman for helping me or not helping me. She's not responsible for my decisions and I don't base what I do on what strangers say off the cuff.0 -
good, so forget about what anybody else did and concentrate on pulling yourself out of this hole you have been digging, by doing as coupon mad said and stop being sidetracked by yellow lines, public or private roads , debt collectors who are not bailiffs , court orders that havent happened yet or anything else you may or may not have mentioned that is distracting you from getting yourself out of this trap that JAS have set or the laws that prevail at the moment
the trick here is to deflect JAS from their usual default path , getting them to engage with you, issue a popla code and beat them at popla same as several others have done recently on here
learning the rules of the game helps you to play it and win , that is what I learned here 12 months ago and in the intervening time, you and others need to do the same so you are well prepared for the next one which may be at a supermarket or airport or retail park or gym or wherever (they breed like rats and infest too many places now)0 -
Standard letter sent, with amendments recommended above, 21 days after ticket issued, recorded delivery.
How long should I wait for a reply?
Thank you.0 -
They have up to 35 days to reply in.
Hopefully an NTK won't now turn up, which is good, because if they do want to invoke keeper liability they have to send between dY 28 & 56.
So sit tight and wait to see what happens.Newbie thread: go to the top of this page and find these words: Main site > MoneySavingExpert.com Forums > Household & Travel > Motoring > Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking. Why did you send it recorded delivery when all the advice on here is to send with a free proof of postage?0
-
Recorded delivery - so did you check/track it online, to see that they signed for it (the whole point of recorded delivery)? Not that we ever suggest anyone uses it to a PPC for obvious reasons to do with them not signing for letters! As Nodding Donkey says, all the advice on here is to send such letters to PPCs at a PO counter and get your free certificate of postage (not a 'signed for' service).PRIVATE 'PCN'?
