We just returned from honeymoon two weeks ago. It was amazing! We took 4 weeks and did a tour of south america, starting in Rio, then to Iguazu falls on the Brazil/Argentia border, Buenos Aires, Uruguay, Santiago in Chile, La Paz and lake Titicaca in Bolivia, Puno and Machu Picchu in Peru, then Quito in Equador, finishing with a cruise around the Galapagos islands.
It cost more than the wedding but it was worth every penny. My husband and I are different nationalities and met whilst working in the Philippines; we are travellers by nature and it was always going to be a big trip for us.
Was difficult coming back to work though!
Wow that sounds amazing, totally out of our league financially and way more time that I'm allowed off work at once, but still amazing!Anzac_Biscuit wrote: »PS Thinking about wedding/honeymoon lingerie here - is anyone planning to bring handwashing equipment with them?? It occurred to me that if I'm going to be wearing pretty things that are more delicate than usual maybe I should actually learn to take care of them
Yeah, I know, showing my practical side here :rotfl:
I have pretty and delicate things at home for 'special occasions' and they just go in with my normal washing. But I suppose buying or taking some hand wash detergent wouldn't hurt.0 -
If any of you are on Facebook, like Holidaypirates they post up some fantastic deals every day

I'm hoping to go on safari for our honeymoon in 2016. Haven't got a massive budget for it so if anyone's got any recommendations of tour operators etc it would be greatly appreciated.

Wow, that sounds amazing! So many people planning amazing trips.
Try Trailfinders - http://www.trailfinders.com/safari - I find their prices really reasonable. Or I think Virgin Holidays do Safaris which you can tie in with a beach holiday.0
