In my Morries the chicken crowns are next to the chicken portions, fillets, legs, thighs. The full size chickens are further along.

Just incase the same in your store, I spotted them last time as very good value for money.

The could be a Sunday dinner if you have a roast (which I do).

I went to the bargain section yesterday and got lots more for my voucher£5/£5 money.

Joint of pork - reduced to £2.49 (2kg)
    Steak Bullet x 2 pack - reduced to £1.99
    Mince x 2 - 2 for £3.50
    Lamb joint - £2.49

    Total: £10.47

Much better than 3 for £10.00

I appreciate that - she wouldn't even do it in a different transaction, which I suppose in line with the t&cs - my moan was that in a different store customers were allowed to do exactly what I wanted to do.

Doesn't matter I just pop in tomorrow on my way to work and when I go home again

Yes - different stores appear to be operating completely different policies.

The vouchers state that they cannot be used where "meat or fish is a constituent part" , yet some stores have been allowing sausages , kieves , etc but you wont know until you get to the till ( or ask at customer service before you start shopping )

    Yes with the chickens.
As LadyCoupon stated, they may be hard to find, especially with the promotion on. I did pick up 4 yesterday, but there were only a few out (10 max).
If you can't find them, ask at the butcher's counter as they could well have them in the back.

I'll be cooking one tonight. lol

The meat aisles were very busy yesterday as was the kiosk (queues with Suns). The car park was choc-a-bloc also.

Thank you Lynsey, I didn't know they did these. Popped in this morning and picked up 8, great value at £1.25 each :D

I was looking through the morrisons website to try and work out what I wanted to buy on my visit to store tomorrow.

Can anyone say what the "R" symbol on some of the descriptions means ?
  • Well I popped in on my way to work and thought I'd be the only one in the meat counter and how wrong was I - the hoards were the there at even 8am!

I got three packs of stewing steak which some may see as a waste but as OH and I cook using the slow cooker in the autumn and winter, it made sense for us.

One more voucher to be used tomorrow and I may get some more stewing steak depending on how much room is in the freezer

Much to hubby's disgust I took him with me to Morrisons this morning.

I had three vouchers to use so sent him through the till with 3x lean mince £5 once the voucher had been deducted. I stayed in store with the trolley and the rest of the shopping.

Mince safely stashed in boot of the car and he came back in to pay for the two beef joints that the lovely butcher prepared perfectly for me. I then bought the few bits of shopping that we 'needed' together with three small pork joints.

We left the Castle Bromwich store just after 10.30 and it was buzzing with people. My Uncle went in shortly after and said they had 'no' meat!!!!

When I bought my papers yesterday the lady in my local newsagent told me that people had been buying 10 papers at a time!

It has this on the first page of the shopping site.

Just had a quick look and it seems all the items with an "R" have a guaranteed minimum date of 7 days e.g.

    7 days guaranteed (avg. 11)*

But the ones without, such as sausages can have as little as 4 days left.
