UKPC "fine" while displaying a valid permit

As there are only 8 flats in the block management may be in house. Your daughter can obtain the landowner's details from her landlord.
She will have an AST which should clearly set out her parking rights, and obligations, it should say whether she needs a permit or not.
It is up to her landlord to ensure that her rights are not in any way compromised by the PPC.
It this was to happen to one of my tenants I would sent the PPC a "Cease and Desist" letter, copied to the MA, insist that the MA calls the PPC off, and threaten injuctions and court action all round. if the nuisance did not stop. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
I'd appreciate any help please.
In brief, my daughter has use of my car, she parked in the private car park where she lives - small car park, 8 spaces, UKPC sign on back wall of car park - her valid parking permit was displayed, only obviously not where the parking attendant wanted it to be..
So where was it displayed, out of interest?0 -

The permit was and always is on the passenger side of the windscreen, on the dashboard just under where the tax disc is.
The photo evidence on the invoice from UKPC is taken from the drivers side at a slight angle and the tax disc can't be seen either!
Had the warden being doing a thorough job he would, I'm sure, have seen the permit. Although other residents, also with permits, have received "fines" too.
I'll be at my daughter's tomorrow, so will have a good look at her lease. It's the letting agent that deals with anything to do with her house, she has never met the landlord.0 -
Hi all
First appeal letter was posted first class on 11th Aug (proof of postage obtained), but a few days ago I received a 'final demand' from UKPC, dated 14th Aug.
Now, I presume they would have received my letter, but if not then they have now had time to respond.
Does anyone think I should wait a bit longer, or would it be best to email the BPA and complain as I wasn't sent a POPLA code?
Thank you.0 -
They have 35 days to respond. It's in the BPA Code of practice which is worth a skim-read (boring but has useful snippets).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

They have 14 days to acknowledge your appeal and 35 days to decide unless there are exceptional circumstances. So, hold of any complaints until one of
- 35 days are up
- you get a rejection with no POPLA code
- you get other correspondence from UKPC asking for more information
- you get any demands from debt collectors or the like.0 -
The letter I received from UKPC basically says that despite them issuing a parking charge and writing to me, they still have not received payment or the name of the driver etc and if necessary court proceedings will be commenced against me etc after a period of 14 days from the date of their letter. So that would make it 28th August.
So I presume the next letter they send may state that they are starting court proceedings or such like?0 -
No, as long as the appeal was received within 28 days of the NTK, the next letter will be the rejection letter - the reminder merely crossed in the post.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Update.
Surprise, surprise......I received a letter today from UKPC informing me that my "parking charge" has been cancelled.
Thank you all who contribute on here, without this site I wouldn't have known what to do.0
