Yes but I would have to give up so much and endure so much grief it would not be worth it even if I saved £10k a month.
I've seen all the comments on here about shopping in a big supermarket, and I wouldn't like to do it. Give me a small town in the country any day.0 -
The banner for the Magnum ice creams is showing a comparison between the original Magnum lollies and the Aldi version. As far as i'm aware, Aldi don't stock Magnum lollies. The clue is in the wording : "Like brands. Only cheaper"
Ah, so aldi don't sell proper stuff then. I'll have to apologise to my mate next time I see him, for not believing he bought a tin of stewed steak in aldi and when he opened it, it was dog food.0 -
Try Lidl's/Aldi's own Magnum type ice creams - they are delicious.
Ok, one more time..........
I live in a small town with no aldi, the nearest place one would be is a 2 hour bus ride away, and I don't even know if there would be an aldi there when I arrived!

If you've never been to Aldi, why do you continue to knock it ? They sell proper stuff along with all the other supermarkets, just cheaper.0 -

Because I am sick of certain aldi lovers butting into every thread and saying how good it is and how bad all the other supermarkets are. Aldi lovers don't like people mentioning other supermarkets in aldi threads, so do it the other way round? They sell proper stuff along with all the other supermarkets, just cheaper.

Very true. They sell something which is considerably cheaper than a Magnum and a good deal nicer.
Most Aldi 'fans' have experience of 'traditional' supermarkets and the German versions like Aldi and Lidl. And the reason they bang on about them so much is that with that experience they know they are getting better quality at much lower prices.
You don't have to accept that, of course - your choice entirely, and I can entirely understand why you wouldn't want to travel large distances to shop. Neither would I.0 -

I'll take your word for it, but to be honest I have tried many cheaper brands, because people on here have said that they are identical, or better than leading brands, and found them not be. Not once, in a side by side test have any of them been as good, or better than the leading brand I usually buy. Most Aldi 'fans'
I'm not talking about most aldi shoppers, most are perfectly normal people I would be happy to meet and talk with. It's the odd few I don't like. The ones who seem to want to justify shopping at aldi by claiming other supermarkets are so bad.
You know the ones, one day they claim they stopped shopping at Morrisons because the fish is always off, the meat is too tough to eat and the fruit and veg is mouldy, mush and full of bugs. Then a wekk later they are shouting yipee because they bought 10 copies of the sun and got a load of meat or F&V at Morrisons.they know they are getting better quality at much lower prices.
I have no problem with people saying they shop at aldi because it is cheaper and just as good, or better quality. You don't have to accept that, of course - your choice entirely, and I can entirely understand why you wouldn't want to travel large distances to shop. Neither would I.
I can't accept it, or not accept it because I can't shop there, so can't see the prices or sample the quality. But I just don't believe the claims some people make about other supermarkets selling bad produce.0
