Get best price whichever supermarket you are in

We all know some shops are cheaper for some products. The supermarkets' own price-promise deals are based on your overall shop - so just choose the most convenient one of the big 4 and split your shopping into 2 when you go through the checkout - one set for the supermarket's special offers & things you know would be dearer somewhere else, and the other one for things that are cheaper elsewhere. That way you maximise your price promise savings. Be careful of the big-brand special offers though - if someone has advertised that they are the cheapest, they probably are so put those in the "cheaper somewhere else". I'm saving around £50 extra a month this way, and I don't have to drive around to "shop around"

sounds a good way to save if a trifle confusing!!0

You do have to make sure you have at least 8 different items in your shop to generate a voucher though. Hth0

And sounds far too much like a faff to me.
I prefer to sort things to make it easier to pack... not that I spend hours doing so like some shoppers, but a little logical order is always welcomed, without splitting things just to get a 15p voucher... if that!0 -

It depends on what you buy and how much.
There was an advert on TV tonight for asda, it said some sort of washing tablets were £14 at tesco but only £4 at asda (iirc), so you could get a tenner back if you split your shopping so other items didn't cancel the saving out.0 -
You're right Bubbs, sorry. I've only done it in Asda or Sainsbury's and they're both 8!0

I've got a question, hope I can explain this !
The items that you know are cheaper elsewhere and you just put those through together - does it matter that some are cheaper at different supermarkets ie does it still count if say 4 are cheaper at M's, 2 are cheaper at T's and the rest cheaper at Asda?? Or will they all have to be cheaper at the same supermarket to count for price difference? It's just that if you do the Asda price Guarantee online it splits the cost into different supermarkets so it got me thinking.
Hope this makes sense as my little head does have a tendency to get confused sometimes!0 -

Well no, it would cost me £9 and 2 hours sitting on a bus!
You, and many on here always assume that everyone can just pop out and have all the big supermarkets within a short distance. But many don't, I have a morrisons and a tesco. I live on my own and don't do enough shopping to make it worth while doing an online shop. Even if I did I wouldn't do it. Going to asda is out of the question for me, I just would not do it.0
