Yes, I think he should have given you several codes or rather commands to enter. The same number may open all locks - keep it friendly with the eBay seller at this time.

No! I have not tried it with another sim. Yes! the Asda sim is new and in date (I think).

Perhaps the Asda network is not on its database. What is the APN and how does one change it?

You have given me some possibilities that I will explore. Thanks.

Hi, the APN is the settings the phone needs to access the network.

It seems your phone as not been unlocked properly from above posts - but for future ref if you need to change APN for a phone or dongle/mobile wifi - google the model of phone and 'change APN' and something should appear to guide you.

These are the settings then required for UK networks:-

The APN is not required to access the network. The setting would only stop data and MMS if wrong.

  • I think the Samsung gt e1270 is a 2G or 2.5G phone.
I think the ASDA SIM uses the EE 3G or 4G network.

That may be your problem. You can't use a 2G phone on a 3G network

Asda Mobile does not require a 3G handset. Only 3 requires one.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
