Topcashback payment delay

Hi,
Hope this is in the right area. I was just wondering if anyone could suggest how to try and spur topcashback into action and paying the cashback which has been owing to me for 9 months now.
Early last November i purchased a home insurance policy from Direct Line via a link on the topcashback website. The offer entitled me to around £45 cashback for the policy purchase. In short i purchased the policy, paid in full with my debit card and registered the purchase on the special page in the direct line website. The key parts of the T&C's was that after three months, provided the neccesary payments had been made the cashback would become eligible for payment.
Well three months came and went. In March 2014 i contacted Topcashback querying when this would be paid and they asked me to 'be patient'. In June i contacted them again and was again asked to be patient. They blame Direct Line for taking so long but just answer my questions with stock answers and do not actually address the points raised. I did ask if they were governed by a regulator but they did not answer this and provided another 'please be patient' answer.
When i took out the policy we had just discovered that my wife was pregnant. Our son was born a week ago and i was just wondering if anyone had experience of similar delays? Any idea's how to progress this and get the payment i am owed? Will i see the money before my son's 21st birthday?

Cashback is never guaranteed, hence why site like MSE say to only view it as a bonus and not choose a policy based on the cashback offered.
The industry is unregulated and apart from their internal support there is no-one to go to. I'm afraid you will just have to be patient and check back once a month. This is what i do. I currently have around £200 owed, the first lot wont come until at least October and the last i cant have until after February (unfortunately for me this is worth £130)Back by no demand whatsoever.0 -
I had a payment take from July to January to come through. I just kept nudging the ticket every week or so.0

@flashbang, you have now discovered how DL and tcb work (or don't).
Many have had serious issues with Direct Line (DL) via tcb and tcb themselves have stated for over 6 months now that they are aware of the DL issues and are actually giving the issues their 'fullest attention' (don't laugh out too loud).
Many have had to go direct to the merchant and have even had to go to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) to get the actual promoted cash.
You will unfortunately have to do the work yourself to get your cash.
1.- contact tcb via a support ticket and ask if they are holding on to your cash (the likelihood is tcb will state they haven't got your cash). Save this message.
2.- contact DL and issue a complaint. It must be a complaint. I went down the line of mis selling of a financial product due to the non payment of promoted cash back from DL or their agents via affiliate marketing (DL use affilliate marketing to sell products via various cash back sites (agents) etc). DL will unfortunately have 8 weeks to investigate your issue and reach a conclusion. If you haven't been paid within those 8 weeks, then step 3.
3.- contact the FOS (DL will have included a leaflet and will have advised you of this option) and they will take on your issue and charge DL (actually UK Insurance) £550.
Hopefully you will get your cash yourself and do the work that tcb clearly can't.
There was a lot of help on the tcb forum, but tcb have taken the forum down. Tcb have also removed the complaints/reviews from the DL page! What was the reasons for this?

Those who think cash back is just a bonus, then that's your option.
The regulatory bodies differ and I would always take their stance and advice.
Cash back would not be guaranteed for returns, cancelled orders or perhaps the use of a promotional code (and possible other reasons), but for genuine transactions, it needs to be paid.No payments from financial products from cash back sites? Put in a complaint direct and if they don't resolve your issue, head straight to the financial ombudsman - it costs the company £550 in referral fees, win or lose.0 -

Im just looking at this myself and the notes seem confusing. There is only one way to pay for the policy on the website i.e a credit or debit card..Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0 -

The reference in the notes to cashback only being paid if members use BACS as their payment method refers to how the member gets paid (not how the member paid for their policy)0 -
I'm having the same problem with Tesco insurance and Legal and General insurance, brought mine through Quidco in February, and still waiting for the cashback, the transactions tracked last week but they have told me it can take up to 9months for the cashback to be paid, so its just a. matter of waiting.
There is not much you can do other than wait, if it has been tracked then you will be paid at some point!0 -
I have had similar problems, as already mentioned it's never guaranteed , I have just kept sending Nudges, I had one claim that is 12 months old and has now been accepted , but still waiting for payment.
Never give up. :beer:There are more questions than answers :shhh: :silenced:WARNING ! May go silent for unfriendly repliesPlease excuse me Spell it MOST times:A UK Resident :A0 -

I've been waiting 6 months for Tesco insurance on Quidco, They have accepted that they owe the cash back but are waiting for payment from Tesco. Quidco won't allow any negative reviews for them either.0 -
Well its early days for me but bought policy in August and just checked TCB site and showing declined.
