  • Are these things popular? You rarely see them on legacy carriers.
    From Poland...with love.

    They are (they're)
    sitting on the floor.
    Their
books are lying on the floor.
The books are sitting just there on the floor.

Don't know about legacy carriers but when we flew from LGW at the end of June, there were lots of Trunkis in Departures.
Obviously I had no idea who they were flying with.

I guess the problem with Trunkis is that if you are asked to put it in the cage, the 5mm (or '5cm) excess will be an issue as they are not 'squashable'.

Maybe because the other dimensions are smaller, Ryanair aren't particularly insistent on enforcing the rules smiley-confused013.gif:

    Trunki 46cm x 20.5cm x 31 cm
    Ryanair 55cm x 20cm x 40cm

However, the fact is that they are slightly bigger than Ryanair max dimensions so you do run the risk of it being an issue.

Personally, I always comply with whatever the rules are for the airline I'm flying with - both dimensions and weight.
That is the only way you can guarantee not having a problem with your luggage.

I've only ever taken trunki's once and never again! I found they were more hard work ( mean as I ended up carrying both) than they were useful! Have bought back packs that have wheels and a long handle too for our next trip x

I loved the video at the bottom of that post - that's so me! I wore three pairs of trousers (baggy jeans, tight trousers and leggings), and 6 tops (Cami, sleeveless top, short sleeved t, long sleeved t, jumper, baggy jumper) a loose open denim shirt, and a full length Barbour jacket with big pockets last time I flew Ryan air. Packed knickers and socks in the pockets, and had all of the tea bags and the like that my mum (in Sweden) had requested in my hand luggage.

I had expandable luggage, so as soon as I was on the plane I started stripping off. was lucky I could do laundry there, but had plenty.

10kilos of Yorkshire tea bags in foil packets and whetiabix - still wonder what that looks like on a security scanner :rotfl:
