The watch is only 27 months old. Rolex recomment servicing every 5 years so it's not due for a normal service for some time.
You can tell I don't have one then?:rotfl:
Seriously though, for £7500 I'd want someone personally walking around with me to tell me the time :rotfl::rotfl:
Bought is to buy. Brought is to bring.0 -

Something as well made as a Rolex not working and even rattling after 27 months without anyone dropping it is highly unlikely IMO.
If your Mum hasn't dropped it someone else has...We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

I've had fantastic customer services from companies where I've spent a LOT LESS than £7500, so I'd expect a good level of service from Rolex.
Has she had it serviced at the recommended intervals?
She hasnt paid Rolex any money, she has paid Goldsmiths money and her statutory rights are with the merchant not the manufacturer.
Rolex recommend servicing every 4-5 years for manual/ automatic watches depending on the exact model and the justiction so at 27 months its highly unlikely a service has been missed.0 -
A lot of speculation here about nothing ! Take it back to Goldsmiths and see what they have to say.............0

Mr chickendipper has had two Rolex watches, the latest (submariner) was bought from Goldsmiths in 2005 and he wears it daily and he even wears it whilst playing tennis and squash. It's seen a lot of use and he's never had a problem with it. The one he had before that, bought in 1997 and worn daily until 2005 again without issue - both were cleaned and serviced when required.
Very strange for a Rolex watch to fail with no apparent reason. As suggested above something's happened to it physically, a hard knock or drop as these watches are built to last as you'd expect for the price.0
