Thorpe Park Height Restrictions

Hi All,
We're planning to go to TP next week, but my youngest son is borderline 140cm (the minimum height required for the 'big' rides). He's 139.5cm without shoes and 141cm with shoes in the morning. By the end of the day he's shrunk a bit.
I know that TP are strict about height restictions, and rightly so, but here are my questions if anyone can have a go at answering them please?
1) Is there a measuring stick located BEFORE we pay to get in? We've bought the tickets with clubcard points, but they're valid until November so we don't really want to cash them in if he's not deemed tall enough for the big rides.
2) Do the TP measuring sticks measure at precisely 140cm or do they add on a bit for shoes? We're putting him in some fairly chunky trainers, but we don't want to go too silly because we've heard that kids in massive shoes get asked to take them off and then get measured barefoot.
3) Is it still the case that he can be measured at customer services and get a wristband to prove it if they deem him to be 140cm? We intend on buying fasttrack tickets but that will be a whole heap of wasted money if he gets to the front of a queue and they then tell him he's too short.
Basically, we'd rather find out if TP think he's under 140cm before we decide to go in. We'll probably then turn around and go to Chessington instead, coming back to TP in a few months and crossing our fingers that he's grown by then. We've sent customer services an email, a voicemail, and my husband is currently on hold to one of their phonelines, but I thought I would ask if anyone here knew!!
Thank you!

Grateful to finally be debt free!

MissVikingette2 was about 141 when we went to Thorpe Park - so we made her wear her highest trainers to make doubly sure!
Some rides have a member of staff at the ride entrance who will check heights, and some rides have height checkers in the queue. I think she got checked a record 6 times on one ride. The man without a signature.0 -
There are no height checkers before you enter the park. They are only by the rides.
My DS wore shoes with a bit of height in them, then also stretched as tall as he could make himself when he was just a wee bit under the 140 mark, and got through without ever being asked to take his shoes off.
A bit of height in the hair (aka bed head or the like) also helps, provided it is not an obvious jedward styleSmiles are as perfect a gift as hugs...
..one size fits all... and nobody minds if you give it back.☆.。.:*・° Housework is so much easier without the clutter ☆.。.:*・°SPC No. 5180 -
If you go to customer services when you first get there - underneath the dome by depth charge - they'll measure your son and put a wristband on him to say he's tall enough to go on the rides.
This stops him having to be measured at each ride (and risking that if he's only just tall enough that one member of staff decides he can't ride).xxx Nikki xxx0
