catch up too hard

Hi

I'm with Gregory Pennington want to leave I have paid my normal payment this month of £200 but have arrers on my account due to hospital bill, I am due to pay £264 on a catch up agreements which is my normal plus 64 over 3 months - i thought I could do it, but I am going to be 150 short for bills this month so don't know what to do I could pay them and be short or pay them only 100 and be more in arrers...it's paying them twice this month that's hard

Hi yes thank you. I'm just panicking as they don't really like me on the phone as I always have something lol....but I can pay £100 to them and pay off arrers when I can plus payment but it's hard

Guess I'm just trying to ask what would you do
  • Vics Do not speak to them on the phone, find out how much notice you have to give them to some out of their plan, write to them and cancel it and go with one of the free debt charities.

I will repeat DO NOT SPEAK TO THEM ON THE PHONE.

Wow your so helpful thank you - so you think I should just leave and go with a free company? Does it matter I'm in debt to Gregory Pennington

I am about to start a new job and I'm scared of changing dmp too
  • Vics Work this out.

How much each month do GP keep for their fee?

How many months have you paid them?

Multiply the 2 together and if you had gone with a free charity that extra amount of money would have been paid off your debt by now.

Forget GP all they are interested in is making money out of your misery.

60 a month roughly in fees wow yes that's a lot, I just don't want to annoy my creditors when they have got used to getting money and I thought giving Gregory Pennington something rather than nothing was better
  • Vics Your creditors won't be annoyed that you have realised that you have been ripped off and are now going with a charity.

Main thing is don't panic spend today reading what you can. Start here.

Then go online to the Stepchange website and see what they say.

  • As Grumplestilskin says your creditors won't care. In fact they'll probably be pleased because they'll be getting a little bit more if you use a free company.

Pop over to the DMP support thread (we won't bite!) and have a read of the last few pages. It will answer most of your questions and anything else just ask and help will be given - the thread is a bit like Hogwarts in that respect ;)
