If you've not enough money to pay your dmp then your paying too much, it's that simple, ditch them now and go free or self managed paying what you can afford0

You don't need to give them any notice phone them, tell them your leaving and cancel the direct debit.
I have just left them myself0 -
You could do it all yourself. You could find this very empowering, taking control of your situation rather than doing what someone else tels you. But if you have a new job starting, you may prefer to invest your time and emotional energy into that, not wrestling with letters from creditors.
I suggest you call StepChange http://www.stepchange.org/Contactus.aspx . They are open until 4pm on a Saturday. They are very used to people switching from commercial DMP companies to them and will explain exactly how it works. You do NOT have to clear this "debt" to GP first.0 -

Hi,
First, Gregory Pennington is a limited company, like any other, they can go bust at any time and take all your money with them, you are not in debt to them, there fees are extortionate, you should leave them today, as advised.
You are under no obligation to pay there outstanding fees, as most of these so called "contracts" would not stand up in court.
You need to regain control of this right now !!
Cancel your Direct debt to them, inform them in writing you will no longer be using there services, contact stepchange or national debtline for advice.
You can very easily self mange a DMP, its very simple to do, they do not do anything for you that you can not do for yourself.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
