Hi
I am with Gregory Pennington debt management and paying them £200 pm and I am £200 in arrers due to having to pay for hospital consulting and I now want to leave Gregory Pennington and go with a free company but I'm scared they won't let me because of this £200 I am finding £200 quite hard each month with unexpected bills like on my car and bus travel costs

They cannot stop you leaving. Check the terms but you probably need to give written notice.
You may need to eventually pay their monthly fee for the month you missed but you won't need to pay the whole £200 (as they won't have paid your creditors if you didn't pay them).
Once cancelled I would suggest either a self managed DMP or using on of the charities and recalculating what you can afford to pay your creditors a month.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
You wont need to give them written notice, I have just ditched them myself, simply phoned and told them and then cancelled the direct debit, as said you may need to give them the monthly fee but you wont have give them the full £200 as they wont have paid your creditors0

If you move DMPs will your creditors re-issue default notices though? Mine are due to come off my credit file in December 2015!0
