I've had a review with some of my creditors and I expected them to be really horrible (some of them still are ive got one debt collector who rings every month for me to make him a better offer and he didn't graduate from charm school with good grades at all) - anyway 3 of my creditors have said that they are not priority debts and that they are happy to take a cut in what I pay them on the understanding that I make a revised offer once my priority debts are clear.. sounds fair enough to me.

so I've taken it one step further and checked which of my debts are actual priority and it seems just 2 of them - so all others revert to £1 per month till they are cleared. I'm sending out the revised offers to companies now so they will contact in the new year and scream and shout and throw their dummies out.

ive also built my hit list of the debts I have left and the time it will take to clear them so ive got some order going on with things

    about time too

yes thanks nice break which seems a long time ago now. hope you had a good one too.

back to the world of debt busting which is virtually at a snails pace - I got paid on xmas eve so its a full 5 weeks till the next pay day which feels such a long time.. I got revised balances from some of the companies I owe so I have an up to date figure on my balance (scary) and apart from that nothing really has changed. still working, still making tiny payments to balances and waiting on priority debts being cleared april this year making me a massive 57£ better off each month (which really isn't a lot in the great scheme of things but hey ho).

End of January will soon be here :)

I would be very happy to be £57 a month better off - add to that the end of the worry.....its a great deal :T!! Well done!

well im big style back in the saddle when it comes to debt busting

    progress from when I started...

    - council tax has one payment and then is up to date - and its never going to fall behind again, lesson learned!
    - water bill has one payment left and then up to date and payment dropping next year - ditto to the above statement
    - rent arrears are coming down and im keeping to the agreed payment schedule. still unsure whether to clear this or just keep to the agreed schedule and target something else

getting thru to the end of the month each month without running out completely of money - woohoo!!

totally faffed off with all of this tbh and have looked at bankruptcy again. I go thru Stepchange online help tool every so often with my new figures - debts reducing slightly, wages about the same and each time they tell me to go bankrupt and it is feeling like it would be a way out of all of this - but im scared to do it.

scared because I supported my ex and his family for x amount of years and ended up paying their bills over mine - how on earth do I explain that one to any straight thinking official? I don't even know how I ended up in that position myself when I think about it. Im worried that if I do go bankrupt the OR will look at my financial history and say that I was reckless or bought it on myself and that I will end up with an BRU/ BRO or whatever it is that will effect me for another 2 to 15 years.

truth is I don't know what to do anymore. im not making headway with my debts at all ok I've cleared off priority debts but that's only because we aren't living. we still run out of money towards the end of the month, I have ended up using the pawnbrokers for the only jewellery I had left so basically I am still relying on credit some months.

I didn't get a pay rise at work this year as I had been with them just 11 months and not the full 12 so im not entitled to one, my commission is going down not up with the new ways of working that have been introduced. I am struggling big style at work at the moment have been since I went back in the new year - sick of being broke, struggling to afford to get to work and back for part of the month every month, sick of everything breaking at home and relying on 'making do'. im sick of living like this, my kids are sick of living like this and im just sad all the time.

sorry if this is doom and gloom and if anyone is still reading I apologise but this is just for me to get it all out on paper/ screen so I can see it in black and white.

time to take a step back and decide what to do me thinks
