  • After a lovely sleep after a night shift I am up and at them, the rain here has been horrendous had some flash floods in Cardiff but most seems to be unscathed here, I haven't put the news on yet to see rest of country.

LFC won 4.0 yay I am so glad they won whilst DS was there he will be over the moon, he took his savings to buy a scarf bless him lol..

Got dinner on the go smelling lovely and using up a few left over chops, sausages, and chicken breast it will be a help yourself late tea tonight no doubt. Also going to make a huge effort to run freezers down so I can actually go do some nice xmas shopping closer to the time, we are now mid August and chest freezer is totally full and the freezer part of fridge freezer is nearly full if I start now I may get there this year, my hubby works in A food/petrol station so often brings bits home from work things that would be thrown out packs of Ham, Cheese, bacon etc but of late half a drawer is full of lindt choc and cookies which is no help whatsoever to my diet but think I will see what we can make for xmas goodies stash or even gifts ....

Just had a lady confirm on facebook she will be picking up my vibeplate for £60 so that will go straight into paying off the credit card my goal is mid Sept/beg October so on track for that...

Done a few bits off my weekly list in work last night priced my insurance for Euro Disney £8 for the three of us for 5 nights which I think is really good will see if I can do anything through quidco tho closer to when we need to book it, washer is on sadly it will be in the tumble today or half way up the street blowing like crazy here and really quite dark for 3.00pm Hurricane Bertha has stole summer today..

Money wise things to think about are cancelling standing order for my Hubbys maintenance to his ex after the final payment goes out on the first of next month(one to put in my tickler), if I can find a saving of just an extra £20 a month that will be a whole extra £200 a month better off from October on so will dig deep and find something else to cancel. That will come straight off credit card in October or whatever is being tackled then...SS and I have a very strained relationship he caused a lot of trouble through the years but he has turned into a really lovely polite intelligent young man who has good friends and cares deeply for his family(he also has a selfish horrible teen streak lol) he has spent the summer with his friends and is moving to England after the hols to work in his granddads butchers shop he is going to train him as a butcher, of course his main aim is to save for a car etc but I am thinking good on you!! especially as he has seen in his own home how easy it is to live off benefits, we have both worked and his mum has always been far far better off on benefits than us working but that is another moan lol anyway I am sure it will hit home to hubby when his payments stop that his lil boy is all grown up...

Right let's sort dinner then have a blitz around ready to start my flylady challenge tomorrow..

  • Morning Daisy(diary)..

A grey glum day here so far, Hubby and gang had a fab day up in Liverpool they won and missed most of the bad weather, so a win win day.. I was then informed SS isn't going away to work now he has a new girlfriend  what a fool.. he has no idea about what else he wants to do in life he says he will go sign on, well I refuse to pay £180 a month for any longer than legally necessary as it is crippling us and although we have a moral duty to guide him and help pay for him I for one am certainly not paying into his Mothers pockets no longer for her to holiday abroad on benefits and us struggle to clear debts off that come from paying council tax..

On a brighter note hubby is back in work Yay !! I have forgotten how annoying 2 whole weeks together can be lol, he is starting training for the managers job shortly so has been really stressy till we sat and had a natter...

On a MSE side I claimed £16.89 from quidco I had no idea you had to claim it yourself these days its always automatically gone straight in so that was a nice surprise, and the lady is picking up vibeplate today for £60 so a nice few pound off card when they finally hit the bank.

I don't think I will venture out today the weather is vile !! I don't know about a NSD but will be low spends if not..

    Things to do ..
Park hamper round up some people are way behind we need to sort it soon x
Put DS Ben10 bits on facebook for sale plus a box of action men bits as he really doesn't like them he had them given to him.
Spend an hour sorting my airing cupboard as hubbys giant tool box can go in there so I can reclaim my wardrobe back. :rotfl:

  • Well had the morning in, the rain has been torrential here today, risked a 15 min walk to take DS to playscheme about 3/4 of a mile away I had one hell of a soaking he had a tiny sprinkling hmmm wasn't amused to say the least today was a NSD too as dropped him off and hubby picked him up after his shift..

We also sat down and done a round up of all our Park hampers we had a really busy 6 weeks decorating and gardening so were both amazed every penny and receipt of 9k is accounted for a huge sigh of relief and just 2 customers too chase out of 20 I am sure they will choose to catch up but will give them the option of cutting their order a little...

Didn't get round to dejunking wardrobes but have done lots today at home work tomorrow so will do a lil more after work...

I have made a decision to re-join weight watchers this week !! Hubby will think I am bonkers... Anyway early night for me x

Today has been spent pondering over Christmas budgets, dreaming of clearing credit cards and holidaying somewhere hot yes a quiet day in work !!

Last few days have been NSD today won't be as need a few things from local co-op, I found a ready started savings card yesterday so will continue to buy a few stamps a week until xmas week, even if its just spent on filling the cupboards rather than goodies it will be a fab help.

Hubby has had a terrible sickness bug I so hope us 2 in house have avoided it typical the day he goes back to work after 2 weeks off he is ill, but as there's no sickness pay or cover with him he has had to go. He has just text tho and said he hasn't been ill this morning and actually had something to eat today, hopefully that will be the end of that.

MSE front as I said A few NSD, I am also pondering on the idea of hubby weighing me weekly and popping £5 in the c/c fund instead of giving it to a slimming club I have started sticking to cal counting last 3 days and scales are dropping again I have spent a whole year trying to lose a stone in slimming world and half heartedly in weight watchers and got no where, but have certainly lost £'s when you consider £5 a week to weigh £4 on bars, £1 on raffle £2 on a magazine, £1 bus fare at a time and a diet coke soon adds up eh, all that extra could stay in the bank a week but just pay £5 into c/c pot.

I have £580 to clear on my card.. my plan is as follows..
    £50-in pot.
    £60-vibeplate
    £60- Fri 15th payday
    £10-Sat 16th TC
    £60-Fri 22nd payday
    £10-Sat 17th TC
    £80-Fri 29th payday
    £10-Sat 30th TC
    £80-FA
£160-DH pay. this will completely clear it off

It will seriously stretch our spending habits but I know it can be done if we really knuckle down. I have also heard on grapevine that a pay-rise is imminent when bosses are home from hols this will help us, plus instead of having to add £15 a week to our full rent we now have £12.00 extra back thanks to tax credits, I have a desk to sell plus numerous clothes etc so anything extra can then go in the pot.. skint for 17 days and one credit card completely cleared without adding anything else on it sounds like a gamble to me....

I will do a food check on what's actually in the freezers at home we only seem to eat what's exactly on the top so I could prob stretch grocery shopping til at least Sat/Sunday ...

oooooo Excited to see this happen now...

Sounds like you've got some good plans in place Karen. Re WW - I joined online via TopCashBack for minus 5p for 12 weeks. Cost £29.99 and got £30 cash back.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • I love this idea :)

I seen that offer somewhere too, I need that threat of being weighed weekly to be honest I kid myself otherwise and get no where, I envy people who trust themselves enough to do this and lots have massive success and cant make group etc.. I am def going to get hubby to weigh me weekly at least til kids go back to school. He just don't know yet lol x

Thank you I think 100 days at a time is just manageable for me I usually jump in feet first go hell for leather for 6 weeks then collapse and put everything I have saved back on cards. Same as flylady and challenges I am only entering what I can manage this time so I won't fail hopefully x

  • :D Yay today is my day off ! I have a huge list of things to tick off but all are on way to playscheme or general housework.. Hubby is a little better again today but I thought I would leave him in bed as he is working this afternoon, nothing like a lie-in when poorly eh..

I have decided 100% to use calorie counting alongside weight-watchers for next 3 weeks and see if that works for me, if not I will go back to group but am giving it 100% as would love to keep the money in my purse rather than giving it to the clubs...

Yesterday wasn't a NSD as expected popped to the coop for a few bits spent £8.28 £2 was savings stamps tho, also paid a friend £10 I owed her for a lamp and son needed £2.50 for playscheme. so total spend £20.78+£3.40 spent last Saturday ..

£24.18- 14th Aug spending diary update.

If I can actually get to the end of week under £30 I will be happy...I have noticed tho that even tho hubby and I have said we won't go down the buying loads of bargains for xmas I still find myself buying I had a payout of £16.89 from quidco but that was then spent in halfcost ok I had a fair few gifts plus wrapping paper etc but really that £16.89 should haven gone in the pot for paying off my credit card, I don't know what the answer to that is but I need to stop this or I will never clear my debts..

Sun is shining here in Wales so going to peg out and hope for the best and get cracking on with flylady bits I think...

    Jobs today...
Take son to bank to pay his coins in he has saved then to the post office to buy some Euros out of coins ready for hols.
    Take him to playscheme.
See what is actually in freezers.
    Dye my hair.
