My 100 days(Aug8th-Nov 16th).

I have tried for as long as I can remember to be debt free and although I'm not in mind blowing amounts of debt I am totally sick of going around in circles I have sat down with hubby this morning and told him exactly what's owed where and he agrees whole heartedly it's time to knuckle down and get things paid off.

I am also fighting a losing battle with many other areas of my life but I know most revolve around weight loss if I am in control of my eating and losing weight most of my life is in sync so that's another must do...

I am going to do as much as I can to get rid of 1 credit card I have a few things to sell I also have a chance often of overtime..

There are a few challenges I intend to get to grips with this month then maybe join in next month on the forums...But my main priority is my Creation c/c which has £787 on so every spare penny is going on that for next 100 days... £7.87 a day sounds perfectly doable hmmm we will see..

Hi going to subscribe as you sound just like me with the losing battles! Like you I believe the battle with fighting debt and weight are in sync.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • Hiyas both thanks for dropping by it's nice to know im maybe onto something with debt and weight I know a lot of my frittering is whilst I am not on plan I follow slimming world.

Today has been a good day its nice to know I have hubbys backing, we also had a few pound increase in tax credits plus I used the mse calc and was advised to apply for housing benefit and council tax benefit so done that too.. will need to send in dockets soon. I know facing upto my debts is a massive step forward I have run for many years.

S/w wise has been a good day
    branflakes+a banana hea+heb.
    rice, chicken and a salad.
chicken, sausage, onions and a bread roll.
syns-fudge, crisps. Walked at least 45 mins.

£37 going into pig, hoping to clear the £87 off this weekend and will clear every spare £ into pig to clear next weekend.

I'm a saver by nature am hoping to get back into the habit in the new year but all I know is I will never squander in cc again....

    Day 1/100 is a good 1 x

  • Got up this morning done the regular banking check had an extra payment in there so paid that straight off Creation card- £146.40 ... also got statement out to get the phone number and it was £727 not £787 owed so a positive start to day 2!!!

Going to start a spending diary as of Monday we have a local fun day today so will not get away with spending nothing but intend to spend as little as poss..

Just started my tickler file up and running I am so hoping I can get more organised next few months knowing xmas is creeping up on us and new year my fav time of year, and really don't want to spend all autumn doing the usual decorating and blitzing rush to put decs up, xmas money wise will be fine as saving with park hampers also commission will cover food bills etc. so that part is sorted this year... Have also decorated living room and bedrooms last few months on the cheap but all looking lovely now so just need to stay organised so going to start flylady next week and finish the de-cluttering through house...

Scales aren't moving this week at all I really wish I could throw them away but that challenge is one step too far at the moment it stresses me out massively !!

So that's my news so far so my creation effort stands at £146.40/£727 =20.13% I like numbers !!

Hi Karen, you sound like you've got your head screwed on :)

I use tickler files too. A foolscap filing system for appointment cards, bills to pay, birthday cards to send, school activities etc and an index card system for daily/weekly/monthly chores. I'm in the early days of using these systems but it seems to working. I just need to stop moving stuff from today's file to tomorrow's :rotfl:

    Hi,

Love your idea of 100 days. Just looked up tickler files - need to think about including this.

O another tickler lol I love the idea and can see it will be a massive help to someone who has a memory like a sieve like me I am hoping it will stop me incurring late payments, and last term I drove myself scatty searching for school letters and dates etc so it can only help, loving the index card idea for daily and weekly chores and the money pots many use for weekly and monthly savings so much to do and start but going to get this sorted first ..

  • Sat bored in work so having a nosey at MSE, My hubby DS and SS will be on their way to Anfield soon I really hope this storm due don't hit that way as promised my DS is only 7 and its his first trip up to see the ground and game etc, Big Bertha stay away please lol...

I won't know myself actually sleeping after a night shift, at least it will be a NSD for me I plan to have a nice day pottering tidying and cook a nice roast for when they come home and hoping to get to the bottom of my ironing pile...

Third week of school hols gone already I have a few bits of uniform to pick up before DS goes back but he had a lot of new before they broke up in September as he grew like crazy, Got loads in the freezers, cupboards ok and cereal cupboard is stocked well so hoping to completely skip grocery shopping til at least next Sunday I have found stretching the food shop just an extra day a week works wonders whilst DS is on holiday as don't need to sort packed lunches out for school...

We went to a local fun day today my only spend was an ice-cream for my son, and a cup of coffee for 3 of us to save our sanity £3.40 so may start my spending diary from Saturday rather than Monday... there was a few craft stalls nothing was spectacular and everything was really over priced, I make the odd card and really love all the wooden plaques etc but when you know you can get far better online for half the price it really winds me up lol I also hate others wasting their money !!!

My darling inlaws have really wound my hubby up today they are completely hopeless with money they have so many repairs needed to do to the house and even with our help they refuse point blank to really make an effort they paid someone £40 to paint the outside windowsills on the front of house a complete hotch potch job then had a cheek to ask hubby for a sub to go out oooo he was so not amused, we are both on the same page regarding getting these poxy debts cleared off and we both work long boring hours for our bit of cash, I really hope and pray we manage to shift this debt asap... I have no problem helping anyone with anything but when their giving money away in 1 hand expecting us to refill the other there had to come a day when he said no ...

Right back to flylady n meal planning lol
