They put it down to possible condensation or 'sometimes a slug can pass over it' (!!!). This despite the fact that it was a hot, dry period of weather.
OK, but that seems to imply that the damaged board was not due to an inherent fault.
If you want to dispute that, then you will need to get an independent report... as has already been suggested by Agrinnall, Rustyboy21 and SuperHan.0 -

Best service ?

To be fair, the majority of company reviews on sites such as Trustpilot are generally poor.
This is because many people don't post reviews when their transaction goes very well but will post when they have a bad experience.
MSE is no different in this respect. For every good report on the "Praise, vent & warning" board there are probably dozens of reports of poor service.
I've recently been shopping around for a new ISP and one I was considering was Plusnet. There are many different review websites on which lots of customers state that this iSP is one of the best at the moment, yet on Trustpilot, the reviews are about as bad as you can get.0 -
Thanks again for your help. I really appreciate it.0

That's soo true, the company I work 4 have bad reviews too (some ones I dealt with!). The thing is, 80% o the complaints are exaggerated and were easily dealt with! Customers just need to rant sometimes and this is what they do. It is in no way an indicator o how good the company is. You should see my last review on these sites - customer was an idiot because I gave him so much goodwill and he wasn't strictly entitled to anything!0 -
You get what you pay for. Get a miele it will last a life time
I have a Miele which has actually been repaired twice
first time I was overloading the dryer and the second time was some freak fault (I googled it and it returned about 1 result!). I do have 10 year's cover on it and both times Miele have been excellent.
I know they are expensive but we got married in 1996 and up until getting the Miele in 2010 we had gone through 5 washing machines, so had spent more than the Miele. It is without doubt the best I have ever owned. A friend house sat when we went on holiday, he was floored at how good it is

I had an Indesit washing machine once, I was living alone and using it once or twice a week at most. It was never overloaded, nor misused in any way. It broke down after 14 months (had a 12 month guarantee) and when I wrote to Indesit to complain that the machine should have lasted longer than 14 months with light use, they replied that I should have bought an extended warranty and that they could do nothing for me.
I did get it fixed for around £50 (this was a long time ago!) and it lasted another year. I bought a second-hand Hotpoint which I had for five years after that.
I know it's hard when you're on a tight budget but to be honest, you're better off cutting your losses now and maybe having a look on ebay or gumtree for a decent second-hand model to tide you over for now. It will probably be more reliable than your Indesit!"I may be many things but not being indiscreet isn't one of them"0 -
Thanks Barbiedoll, and commiserations!
I think that there's a bit of deception going on by some companies if the actual cost of their products is purchase price + warranty in order for it to work beyond a fairly short time. I'd rather go for a product that has a good reliable record, and will definitely avoid Indesit and go for the kinds of make's people have suggested here.
Thanks again all.0
